It’s day 3 of #fabricrecipes and todays prompt is #texture. . Love the textures that are created by mixing in other techniques including stitching ( with s add princess pleater!) and gel printing on it. . I explored gel printing x Tyvek further in my Gel Printing on and with Textiles online course and @clairesteeletextiles and I experimented with hand stitches and Tyvek in @norulestextilesociety. Love how the stitches loop as the Tyvek shrinks! 🖤

A-Z OF TYPES OF TEXTILE PRINTS🧶 Argyle — A diamond-shaped pattern with overlapping diagonal lines, often associated with knitwear. Bagru — A traditional Indian hand block print style using natural dyes and earthy motifs. Block print — A handcrafted printing technique using carved wooden blocks to stamp designs onto fabric. Buffalo check — A bold check pattern with large squares, typically in two contrasting colors. Buta — A small, stylized floral or paisley motif commonly used in Indian textiles. Buti — A smaller, repeated version of buta motifs scattered across the fabric. Cabana stripe — Wide, bold vertical stripes often associated with beach or resort aesthetics. Chevron — A repeating V-shaped zigzag pattern. Chinoiserie — Decorative patterns inspired by Chinese art, featuring florals, birds, and scenic elements. Crosshatch — A grid-like pattern created by intersecting lines resembling a woven texture. Dabu — A traditional mud-resist hand block printing technique from India. Fern leaf — A pattern featuring delicate, natural fern foliage motifs. Firework — Radiating burst-like patterns inspired by exploding fireworks. Flame stitch — A zigzag pattern resembling flickering flames, also known as Bargello. Folk art — Patterns inspired by traditional, regional, and cultural artistic expressions. Gingham — A simple check pattern made with evenly spaced horizontal and vertical stripes. Greek key — A continuous geometric border pattern formed by interlocking lines. Herringbone — A broken zigzag pattern resembling the skeleton of a fish. Houndstooth — A duotone pattern with abstract, jagged shapes resembling a dog’s tooth.
