I have made it a habit for the last 2 years to texturize my hair in the beginning of the year and try see how long I can stay with open hair 😮‍💨😂.. so far 1 month 😭💀 I have kinky 4c hair and it’s HARD to maintain it on a day to day, but I love how full it is so instead of relaxing I always texturize it. Full disclosure: there a lot of people who will say they are texturizing your hair but you end up with straight hair. I like mine to still have curls and density when we are done with the process.
