What is the Deadly Dozen❓️ - The Deadly Dozen is a Fitness Race built around a simple but brutal format: - 12 × 400m Runs and 12 Exercise Stations - known as the Labours. - The Labours are lined up in the centre of the athletics track, numbered from 1 to 12. - Athletes begin with one lap of the track, then complete Labour 1, before heading back out onto the track again. We decided to try the Deadly Dozen about three weeks ago, thinking it would be a fun challenge 👀 Still figuring out how everything worked, slightly overestimating our fitness… but by the end of it we were honestly so impressed.🔥 Even made top 10 in our age group 🫶🏼🥰 Such a well-organised event, amazing judges, great energy, and an all-round unreal experience. 10/10 fun, super tough, but so worth it. We’ll definitely be back for more. Thanks for having us 🫶☠️

Deadly Dozen Youth This was today's main event!!!! The Hyrox simulation before this a mere warmup in comparison. This is 12 exercises, with 12 x 400m runs It's scaled by halving the weight, distances and reps to half of its grown up version, but make no mistake this is still a challenge. In DD Youth the parent (me) accompanies the "Youth" for the entire race. Stepping in and splitting the load as you deem appropriate. Obviously the younger your youth the more you might have to. But this lowers the pressure and lets us oldies carry some of the load. Isabelle is most known for her parkrunning, her kitty cat ears, but I can foresee in time she is going to be a bloody amazing hybrid athlete. First Deadly Dozen training session… 6/12 stations completed with adapted weights to suit my current ability and strength! I actually really enjoyed it once I was finished, but it’s definitely gonna take some practice, especially with some of the exercises that I’m not so familiar with🤭 For my first session now I’m pretty chuffed with how it went and the countdown is on!!!
