The Exploding Bakery Pop up at The Pilgrim . @explodingbakery , Devon’s finest artisan bakery is running a 1 month only pop up @thepilgrm where you can buy all of their signature cakes and brownies. We went for the the brunch where The Pilgrm’s classic French toast is transformed into a deliciously sweet and indulgent Banana Bread French Toast, made with the toasted Exploding Bakery’s banana and chocolate bread and served with Nutella, honey, rosemary glazed pears, roasted hazelnuts, a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. So so good ! Also loved their cakes .. so tasty and special Paddington Brownie with Orange Marmalade, Orange, Almond & Pecan Cake and my absolute favourite Berry Citrus cake . Highly recommend trying this pop up for coffee and cakes or for brunch .

@quartertwo_cafe 📍 Moonee Ponds Cinnamon & @pistachiopapiofficial Scrolls After smashing an elite steak sandwich, the question was casually thrown out, “Would you like a scroll?” Errr… is the Pope Catholic? Of course, the answer was yes—and not just one scroll, but two. A cinnamon scroll and the beloved Papi-flavoured one. Mont blanc coffee—was something else. Absolutely unreal. Joel, the novice baker behind these beauties, created the recipe by EYE-BALLING it. He must have some natural talent because they were bloody good. Thick, gooey, warm, and bursting with flavour. As for presentation—who cares when it’s drenched in that perfect nectar of icing? The cinnamon scroll was on point. A critique to break into the top 3: a slightly shorter bake time and thinner swirls when rolling the dough, so there’s more cinnamon sugar running through each bite and a larger swirl. That Papi scroll… mate, I was in heaven. It was like a river of green gold. The dough itself was great, though it could be refined, a shorter bake would perfect it.
