I never really know how to answer that in a neat way. For me, it wasn’t one big moment where everything suddenly became clear. It was more a slow build-up of realising that I felt incredibly lonely, even though I was in a relationship. I never really felt like we were fully committed. It always felt conditional. Like he wanted me most when he didn’t have me. Like it was all a bit of a game. What hurt the most is that the moments that were meant to be happy were often ruined. Our engagement. Pregnancy. Buying a house. Big life moments that should have felt safe and exciting ended with me crying and wondering why it felt so hard. I kept telling myself it was just stress, or timing, or that things would settle once the next milestone passed. They didn’t. I went back more times than I care to admit. Hoping it would be different. Believing that this time things would change. And I don’t judge that version of myself at all. I was doing the best I could with what I had at the time. Eventually, there came a moment when I was already emotionally stretched and something in me just couldn’t do it anymore. Not in a dramatic, empowered way. Just a quiet realisation that I didn’t have the strength to keep carrying the relationship on my own. That was when I found enough clarity to leave. I’ll never judge anyone who stays. Or leaves. Or goes back. Or leaves again. There isn’t a right way to do this, and there isn’t a timeline you’re supposed to follow. You just have to do what’s right for you, when you’re able to do it. And sometimes that means trying again before you’re ready to walk away for good. If you’ve ever been asked “why don’t you just leave?” and felt that knot in your stomach, please know this: leaving isn’t one decision. It’s a process. And you’ll know when your moment comes, even if you can’t explain it to anyone else.

Being asked “What’s for dinner?” In perimenopause is the final straw in a day of trying to act like everything’s fine am I right? Why? Because this isn’t laziness. It’s physiology. • Fluctuating estrogen = brain fog + emotional whiplash • Lower progesterone = less calm + lighter sleep • Chronic stress = elevated cortisol (wired but exhausted) • Blood sugar instability = crashes + cravings • Poor deep sleep = lower next-day resilience • Declining muscle mass = reduced metabolic flexibility • Increased inflammation + oxidative stress = everything feels heavier Your nervous system has been “on” all day. Decision-making. Emotional regulation. Holding it together. That’s energy. Perimenopause is less hormonal buffer… with more life responsibility. Of course you’re tapped out. ↗️share with a friend who is also tapped out and dinner is the final straw ➡️Follow for real talk, science-backed solutions, and humor from a woman who actually gets it. 🔥@michelle_a_swenson

My paper straw after 3 dips: Collapses Global diplomacy after one disagreement: also collapses P.S- Not minimising the pain of today’s conflict, but remembering this- “It’s usually leaders who declare wars, and citizens who pay for them.” Humanity deserves better. #trendingaudio #trending #war #iran #staysafe

Do NOT watch Straw on Netflix unless you’re ready to ugly cry. This movie is pure genius. So beautiful, raw, and absolutely heartbreaking. 🥲💔

This might of been my last straw for the day 😅 #postpartumhumor #momx2 #parenthumor #momhumor #postpartum
