A Rainy Day Rescue in Pune On 20th August 2025, the city of Pune witnessed relentless heavy rains that flooded streets and fields. Amidst this chaos, a mother dog with her day-old puppies was found trapped in the thick bushes near Hadapsar, Amanora. The heavy downpour had left their tiny bodies drenched and shivering, while the mother struggled helplessly to keep her newborns safe. That’s when the Universal Animal Welfare Society team rushed to the spot after receiving the distress call. the team carefully cleared the bushes and safely rescued the exhausted mother and her fragile puppies. The little family was immediately shifted to a safe and dry shelter, where the mother could nurse her babies in warmth and peace. Today, they are safe, recovering, and being cared for with love. Like many pioneers, they traveled west in search of land, independence, and opportunity. John, a former ranch hand, built their log home by hand, using timber from the surrounding forests. Mary, raised in a farming family, adapted quickly to life on the frontier, tending to their vegetable garden, preserving food for the harsh winters, and sewing clothing for their growing family. Their days were filled with hard work-raising livestock, maintaining the homestead, and fending off harsh weather. 💀 True Story // On New Year’s Eve 2014, late at night, I went to my friend’s farmhouse, about 18–20 km from the city. They had an old haveli there. After the New Year’s party ended, around 2 AM, we decided to watch this film. At first, we thought it was some low-budget movie with no well-known actors — nothing exciting — but my friend was adamant that we watch it. In the beginning, it felt boring, so my friend, his younger brother, and I were just talking over it. That’s when my friend told me about his 17-year-old cousin who had been shot accidentally during a land dispute nearby, and how they had cremated him right there in the fields. As the movie picked up, we got more invested. Then came this creepy “wheel chair scene,” and we started feeling a little uneasy — it was actually turning out to be legit scary. Suddenly, the screen went black. The power hadn’t gone out, but only the picture disappeared. The audio was still playing — people screaming in the film — but we couldn’t see anything. We were terrified. My friend told his younger brother to go check; he refused. Just as my friend was about to get up himself, the screen suddenly came back on by itself. We were freaked out. I didn’t sleep that night and left for home at 5 AM sharp. After that, we never watched a movie together again — and we rarely spoke about that incident.
