🎥🎬: The Platform (2019) The Platform is a Spanish sci-fi horror film set entirely inside a vast and brutal vertical prison known simply as The Hole. The structure consists of hundreds of levels stacked on top of each other — each level containing two prisoners and a rectangular hole cut through the centre of the floor and ceiling. Once a day a platform laden with an enormous and lavish spread of food descends slowly from the top level downward through every floor. The concept is simple and devastating. The prisoners on the highest levels eat first and eat well — feasting on gourmet food prepared with extraordinary care. By the time the platform reaches the middle levels the food is largely picked over. By the time it reaches the lower levels there is almost nothing left. And the prisoners at the very bottom starve completely. Every month prisoners are randomly reassigned to a new level — waking up one morning to find themselves either in luxury or in desperate and life threatening hunger. The system is designed to be self regulating. If everyone took only what they needed every prisoner on every level would have enough. But they do not. Human nature takes over every single time. Goreng wakes up on level 48 with no memory of agreeing to this and no idea how deep The Hole goes. As he descends through the levels over time — sometimes eating well, sometimes starving, sometimes witnessing unspeakable acts of violence and desperation — he becomes increasingly obsessed with changing the system from within. In my opinion, Innovation is the process of delivering that future that we carry on the inside. Innovation has been defined as the process of making an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value and for which customers will pay. Entrepreneurship, on the other hand, is the ability to see challenges as opportunities, find solutions to those challenges, create a product or service that brings solutions to the challenges in a way that customers are willing to pay for it and at a price point that is profitable and sustainable for growth. If you think about that, Innovation is creating a solution that are people are willing to pay for … but entrepreneurship is actually getting people to pay for it at a price point that is profitable and sustainable for growth. So, can there really be entrepreneurship without innovation? I believe the answer is that while you can innovate without being an entrepreneur, it is impossible to be an entrepreneur without innovating.
