Yes continued to follow their early musical direction of performing original material and cover versions of songs by pop, jazz, and folk artists. 𝙔𝙚𝙨 is an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by singer Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire. Known for their complex compositions, virtuosic musicianship, and mystical lyrics, Yes became one of the pioneers of progressive rock! Their early lineup stabilized with guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Rick Wakeman, and drummer Bill Bruford. Albums like Fragile (1971) and Close to the Edge (1972) are considered landmarks of the genre. They reached commercial success with hits like "Roundabout" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (1983), the latter during a more pop-oriented phase with guitarist Trevor Rabin. Yes underwent many lineup changes over the decades, with numerous reunions and offshoot projects. Despite these shifts, the band continued touring and recording into the 21st century.
