This social media post introduces a unique time-management strategy called the 50/40/30/20/10 method, designed to help individuals tackle large projects by working in harmony with a naturally declining attention span. The user shares their personal productivity hack, which involves setting a series of diminishing work intervals interspersed with consistent ten-minute breaks to maintain momentum without reaching total burnout. The cycle begins with a deep-focus session of 50 minutes, followed by a break, then 40 minutes of work, and so on, until the final 10-minute sprint is completed. By the end of this structured sequence, the person has successfully logged two and a half hours of solid work within a three-hour window, providing a high level of efficiency that feels manageable rather than overwhelming. The creator of this method explains that the decreasing length of each work block accounts for the mental fatigue that often sets in during long tasks, allowing the user to keep pushing forward instead of giving up as their focus starts to erode. This psychological approach to scheduling is presented as a helpful tip for the community, offering a practical alternative to more rigid systems like the traditional Pomodoro technique. It resonates with anyone who struggles with maintaining consistency over several hours, providing a clear roadmap that rewards progress with more frequent shifts in activity as the finish line nears. The narrative highlights the importance of self-awareness in productivity, suggesting that recognizing one's own cognitive limits can lead to better outcomes and a more sustainable work ethic. This strategy serves as a vivid illustration of how personalized systems can often be more effective than one-size-fits-all advice, empowering people to experiment with their own rhythms to find what truly works for their brain. By sharing this detailed breakdown, the post fosters a supportive environment for those looking to optimize their workflow and manage complex assignments with a greater sense of control and accomplishment. It is a testament to the power of community-shared knowledge and the constant evolution of how we approach the challenges

Not me at 11pm fixing something I said I was almost done wit

Not me at 11pm fixing something I said I was almost done with at 6pm.. 🫣 But hey! Easter weekend just started, so it’s all good now. 😜 I have to admit, I normally don’t like it when “almost done” turns into 3 extra hours. But sometimes a problem just sticks in your head… and you need to solve it. Since I have a day off tomorrow, I couldn’t relax knowing this issue was still there, so I fixed it. 😄 If I didn’t have the day off, I definitely would’ve wrapped up earlier. So here are a few tips that help in those situations: ⭐ Break work into small, finishable tasks Large tasks create vague progress. Smaller chunks (30–90 minutes) give you natural stopping points and make it easier to wrap up on time. ⭐ Intentionally ignore edge cases To me, edge cases are usually the biggest bottleneck. They make me derail every single time. However, if you try to ignore the edge cases, and communicate this to the team, it's more likely you are able to wrap up your work and get the minimum done. Sometimes it's just best to not know what's wrong. 😉 ⭐ Learn from your time estimates If your “30 minutes” often turns into hours, adjust your expectations. Better estimates help you plan realistic stopping points. ⭐ Respect your energy levels (arguable most important) Working longer doesn’t always mean working better. Fatigue leads to slower thinking, more mistakes, and even more overtime. So, when time is up, communicate what's wrong and what's left to fix, and get back to it once you are refreshed. It's also part of accepting there will always be unfinished work. At the end of the day, figure out what works best for you. Sometimes putting in extra hours is worth it, and that’s okay. Just be aware of it, accept it, and choose those moments intentionally. 😉 Happy coding everyone! 👨‍💻 ~ Follow for game development and programming content 🤩👨‍💻🎮 @justinbieshaar . . 🏷️ #programming #coding #programmingisfun #gamedev #softwareengineer

↓ 7 simple ways to reduce your screen time If you feel that your screen time is getting out of hand, you’re not alone. Numerous studies have shown that too much screen time can have adverse health effects, especially in children & younger people. Here’s 7 simple ways to reduce your screen time right now. 1- Track Your Screen Time: Start by gaining insights into your screen time habits. Use apps to monitor your daily activities. Identify the time spent on work, essential tasks & social media, 2- Opt for Single-Screen Focus Resist the temptation to juggle multiple screens simultaneously. Instead of scrolling through your phone while watching TV or working on your computer, prioritize a single-screen focus. 3 - Less Appealing Phones are powerful distractions, often triggering a dopamine response. Diminish the allure by switching your phone to grayscale, lowering brightness, or setting it to silent. 4 - Screen-Free Breaks Incorporate regular screen breaks into your workdays and longer breaks on days off. Set alarms every 30 minutes for work breaks, ensuring you step away from all screens. 5 - Old School Not every task requires a screen. Consider alternatives like phone calls instead of Zoom meetings and pen-and-paper notes over digital apps. 6 - Work Boundaries Define fixed working hours to prevent work from encroaching on personal time. Communicate these boundaries to colleagues and clients, turning off work-related notifications outside of work hours. 7 - Switch Off Before Bed Prioritize quality sleep by disconnecting from screens at least an hour before bedtime. Set alarms to signal the end of screen time and create device-free zones in your bedroom and bathroom. Remember, the goal is progress, not perfection. ✅ Hit the follow button for more tips! ✅ Was this helpful?
