Having such a tiny studio means I have to keep it tidy! Does anyone else cover their bench with paper so they can test paint colours on it? I’ve also just realised how is recycled! Pasta sauce and hummus pots for mixing paint. Masking tape saved reduction reuse by sticking it to the wall. Olives and tomato tins for brushes and tools. Final video of my garden art studio build. It’s genuinely been life changing! After a year of working at my kitchen counter, I finally have a proper space to create. My dad basically became a full time builder to get this done and drove back and forth multiple times from Dublin with a car full of tools (customs hated to see him coming!). HELP! Advice and Thoughts Welcome! 💛 ✨ I love my weirdly shaped little art studio but I need to rearrange and organize the studio this winter once my editing business calms down and I’m starting to make some plans for it… but do you have any tips, advice, or favorite videos on this subject? 🧐 The space is looong and narrow and it has to serve multiple functions - art making, filming, packing, shipping, storage… etc. So it’s a tricky situation. (not to mention my 4 year old has her own space within this room to make art with me and somehow it takes up one of the best spots… 😅) My space is definitely overwhelmed by stuff right now, so I will need to move things out and change up the layout. But it feels SO overwhelming to fix this problem and I don’t even know how to begin. Oh gosh how I love my little studio! 🥹🧡 I did a really big push at the start of the year to get it super organised, functional and enjoyable to be in. It’s where I create after all! I was finding the messier, unorganised state it was in before overwhelming and I’d avoid being in it. Not ideal when making art is your job! 😅 So far thanks to everything having a home I’ve been able to easily keep it tidy. And I genuinely look forward to coming in here first thing every morning to enjoy a coffee and journal. Truly worth giving up my bedroom and sleeping in the lounge room for! Welcome to my new studio: Fully funded by art sales, and now officially ‘open for business.’ I want to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me all these years. This decades-old dream is even better than I ever imagined, and I feel like I’ve finally come home, creatively speaking. I started to do a voiceover explaining everything, then decided I’d rather you experience the full tour without words (since that’s the realistic ambiance while I’m working in there). 😅 I couldn’t be happier with how all the furnishings came together; it’s unbelievably cozy, despite being a workspace — which was exactly how I hoped it would feel. I repurposed as many antiques and vintage pieces as possible, and they really set the ‘classical tone’. The last thing I’m missing is a little desktop fountain… I think I’d love the sound of falling water while I work. (If anyone has recommendations for a good one, let me know!)
