It doesn’t matter how you get up off the floor. What matters is that you can. This way might look simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are a few hands-free options… this just happens to be my preferred one. Most people struggle not because they’re “bad at movement”… but because they never practise it. And while care homes might feel a long way off, the reality is this: not being able to get up after a fall is one of the biggest reasons older adults lose independence. Use your hands while you practise, that’s absolutely fine. You’ll feel properly chuffed when you manage it hands-free. If knees are a bit grumpy, you’re not alone… I’ve been there too. This challenge not only helped me create a new habit to improve my body but also taught me that when we have discipline, control our negative thoughts and put aside the excuses that divert us from the goal, it is really when we see great changes in our lives. I'm still training! Not with so much intensity but definitely more motivated after seeing the great results of this challenge.
