When someone says “I did so much for them but they didn’t treat me the way I treated them” Or “They don’t appreciate me” etc Then I always find that inherently this person will most likely be miserable throughout their life as they have the incorrect expectations of how humans should behave. The default expectations always needs to be one where you expect nothing from people. When you see life like this, you will life so much happier and content. You will avoid heartache and pain. You will have a positive outlook on life and understand that nobody owes you anything, not even a thank you. Why? Because humans are flawed in nature, we forget, we dismiss and we are neglectful. Most likely you’re also not an angel and have forgotten to show appreciation. There is someone out there who expects more from you as well. This is how we all are. So let’s take a few steps back and go easy on others. Expect nothing and watch your whole life change.
