Our designs may seem rather simple to most since upon first glance, it’s a classic solitaire, but the amount of time it took to design and then actually create in precious metal is so much more than face value. The Monaco took 7 months of design and development. The latticework petal prongs are my favorite petal prong creation yet; alone they took 2.5 months to develop as petal prongs are finicky little devils. Too wide and you see the width of the entire basket from the top, too skinny and they no longer resemble petals, too oblong and they look like little footballs. Capturing the perfect petal shape is paramount to how the ring appears and if it’s off by a little, the entire ring’s aesthetic is thrown off. Maybe I’m overly picky about it but I don’t really believe in settling when it comes to your engagement ring. The bridge design was a MEAN challenge of its own. Someone asked if we offered other leaf designs on the bridge; no haha, we’re not offering them as customs as they take so painfully long to develop and are so difficult/experimental. We went through 18 nature bridge designs to finally land on the one that worked. All the areas of these rings are so minuscule—we’re working with areas less than 2mm, which is barely the width of a pencil’s lead✏️; scaling the design itself into a space so tiny is one challenge but for it to actually be distinctly visible and legible when actually created in real gold jewelry is another.
