This blue post box really caught my eye 💙📮 In the past, blue post boxes were used for air mail. Today, there are only two blue post boxes left in the UK. 📍 Liverpool Road, Castlefield, near the Museum of Science and Industry I shared this because I really like UK post boxes. They are the same style as the ones used in Hong Kong before 1997 — same shape, same design, a quiet connection 🇬🇧🇭🇰 The UK also has many red post boxes with special shapes or designs — round ones, gold ones, and boxes made for special events ❤️📮 Do you have a favourite post box you’ve seen? #UKPostBox #BluePostBox #RedPostBox #BritishDesign #UKHeritage #Manchester #Castlefield #HongKong #StreetDetails #LittleThings #cantonbee #cantonese

UK 🇬🇧 fact: British post boxes aren’t just iconic red boxes — they each carry a royal cypher that tells you exactly which monarch was on the throne when it was made. Once you know how to read them, you start spotting pieces of UK history everywhere… including the post box in London that a tree grew around. #atexaninengland #lifeinengland #expat #postboxcyphers #cypherspotting

☎️ Once an icon on the streets of Essex, it's 100 years since the red phone box was introduced in the UK but where are they in the county now? We've found a few... do you know of any more and what they are being used for?

Where does the word ‘stationery’ come from? 🤔 To answer that question I was lucky enough to have a look round Stationers’ Hall, a hidden historic gem very close to St Paul’s Cathedral. Dating back to 1673, it is one of the City’s oldest livery halls and is crucial to the history of publishing and printing. The LONDON Iconic Phone Boxes . . . . . . . . #lovelondon❤️ #londonphonebox #london #londonlife #viralreels

English from real life - red phone boxes British telephone boxes are a famous symbol of the UK, but they were not always red. The first public telephone boxes appeared around 1903 and were often brown or wooden, especially in rural areas. In the 1920s, architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott designed the red telephone box for London, so it would be visible in fog. From 1935, this design spread across the UK and became an icon. Today, many telephone boxes no longer serve as phones and are used as free Wi-Fi hotspots, mini libraries or defibrillator points. My first photo of a telephone box was taken in 2006 and later inspired the Mini Anglia logo. In 2022, I recorded a video in London showing that some boxes work as hotspots. In 2026, I photographed classic red boxes and an early brown wooden one in the National Museum of Scotland, as well as a green telephone box decoration at Dublin Airport in Ireland. Brytyjskie budki telefoniczne to symbol Wielkiej Brytanii, choć początkowo nie były czerwone. Pierwsze pojawiły się około 1903 roku i często były brązowe lub drewniane, zwłaszcza poza miastami. W latach 20.
