We are hosting a FREE IFTAR for the community — and when I say community, I mean everyone. All faiths. All walks of life. Every background. On the menu: – Slow-cooked brisket – Delicious kranskis with cheese – A warm meal prepared with generosity and love Ramadan is not just about fasting from food and drink. It is about feeding others, building bridges, softening hearts, and remembering that we are all servants of the One Creator. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.” — (Tirmidhi 807) And Allah says: “And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.” — Surah Al-Insan (76:8) This night is about unity. What I love about our brothers at Fettayleh Foods is that they didn’t just sponsor the night… they showed up. They put the aprons on. They cut the brisket with their own hands. They stood there and served the people themselves. No ego. No titles. Just خدمة. Just community. Tonight at Lakemba Mosque, we fed everybody. Young, old. Muslim and non-Muslim. Neighbours, families, strangers who became friends. All faiths were welcome. And that’s what Ramadan is about — unity, mercy, and breaking bread together. As the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.” — Tirmidhi 807 We did our best… and we left the rest to the Almighty. Allah ﷻ says: “And whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah.” (Qur’an 2:110) What a blessed night it was. What a community we have. What a reminder that when intentions are pure, Allah puts barakah in the gathering. May Allah accept from everyone who cut, cooked, served, donated, cleaned and attended.
