Have you checked out Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair, PA? This park did not disappoint! It is beautiful!🌳 📌Save this for your next Pittsburgh area hike! This park has a bit of everything: wetlands, meadows, waterfalls, overlooks, etc. There is also a playground if you want to do a kid-friendly hike and let them play after. 😍 I parked in the small lot off Bird Meadows Dr (by @ardolinospizza )and made a 3 mi loop connecting a number of different trails. There are so many trails here, so grab a map and choose your own adventure. I used the @alltrails Boyce Mayview Loop option to navigate my hike. Warning: The hike is listed as easy, but it is definitely more moderate due to terrain. There are some steep, uneven sections. If you want easy, stick to the Wetlands and Duckbill trails. ⚠️Duckbill trail has some erosion along Chartiers Creek making for a narrow trail in spots with a drop off. (Just an FYI if bringing kids.) ♿️Wetlands Trail is Handicap accessible. There is also a paved Perimeter trail. 🐶Park is mostly dog-friendly. Some trails indicate no dogs. This park left me wanting more! I will definitely be back! I think I’ll take the newer view. My wife, Kids and I have lived in major cities across the United States. Mainly from having sold alarm systems door 2 door. Tons of our lives were spent in those cities. Careers. Kids. Everything. My wife visited St George, Utah one week to visit family and when she came back … we were suddenly buying a house sight-unseen and packing our bags. She said she loved the empty roads. She said she loved the clean air. She loved seeing the mountains. She loved not seeing graffiti and homeless camps everywhere. So, she convinced me it was time to make a home base in St George, Utah of all places. We fist tried Washington fields. We loved all the fields everywhere. The scenery was breathtaking. But then the construction happened. The fields started disappearing. The traffic got “heavier” and what once were our favorite things, started to not exist anymore. We couldn’t take a repeat of Atlanta, Lousiville or Indianapolis again. So we sold our house and moved to@the west side just before Santa Clara. And let me tell you … it’s been the dream. Way less traffic. Fields are still a thing over here. You can see the sunrise and sunset. My drive home most days is along this farmland at the base of the mountain and it’s the dream. So, ready to leave the city life? I get it. Try and visit Southern Utah and see if you can tell that there’s a better quality of life here. Then, like we did, make the move. Hidden gem in Upper St. Clair. Took a 1.25 mile walk on GilFillan Trail with my friend Fernando and it turned into way more than just a quick stroll. Quiet paths, peaceful views, and that rare feeling of being fully unplugged without going far at all. There is even Dorset sheep and volunteer opportunities to help care for them, plus horse therapy through Horses for Hope that brings such a calm, grounding presence to the space. It is one of those places that reminds you how much beauty is tucked into everyday spots you pass by without noticing.

This is why people move to Southern Utah... and somehow still end up miserable. They move here for sunshine... Then choose a neighborhood that doesn’t fit their life. They love the idea of St. George... then realize it’s smaller than they thought, the weather isn’t actually what they wanted, and wished there was a better nightlife. They think they want to live here until they hear new construction early in the morning and can’t go back to bed. They think Southern Utah is one thing when in reality, it’s it’s something completely different than what you were expecting. I’ve seen it many times now. Same story. Different family. The ones who struggle usually did this • Picked hype over fit because they watched a ton of videos on social media of new development areas. They aren’t mature! • Choose to be too close to the mountains then regret the long drive they have to take every day. • Didn’t think through schools, routines, or what daily life will actually look like. • Expected the move itself to create happiness. Our habits do. The families who thrive here do the opposite. They choose the right pocket, not the loudest one. They understand what they want out of St. George.
