Every semester, our cadets train hard for the Physical Fitness Assessment, the Air Force’s standardized test for fitness level composed of 1 minute of pushups, 1 minute of situps, and a 1.5-mile run. After 20 physical training sessions, they crushed the assessment! Tips for Air Assault School: 1. Show up able to climb a rope, at least 15ft. You won’t do much rope climbing there, but during the O-course you’ll need to be able to climb a 15 foot rope, or they’ll drop you. 2. Attention to detail. Many times you’ll be required to have specific equipment on you or in your bag on any given day. Have it. And practice your layouts for after your ruck marches. They will dock points if things are laid out incorrectly, on God help you if you’re missing a critical item. 3. Practice your sling loads as much as you can. During the sling loads hands on exercises, you’ll be afforded extra time after class for additional practice. TAKE THAT TIME and maximize your chances of success.
