Day 31/365 #Today was my daughter’s 9-month immunization visit, and I won’t lie, I hate the part where she cries. That helpless look. The tiny tears. it breaks me a little every time. But as someone in public health, I also understand what those few seconds of discomfort are protecting her from. Diseases that used to take children’s lives. Outbreaks that still happen. The bigger picture of prevention, community health, and protection beyond just my own child. Still, I know not every parent feels the same way about vaccines. Some parents fully trust immunization. Some are unsure. Some have decided not to vaccinate at all because of things they’ve seen, heard, or experienced. And honestly, I think more parents are sitting with silent questions than we admit.
