This is the story of Vic Lee, E36 touring cars and British touring car racing Vic Lee Motorsport was a top BTCC team, competing in 1991 and 1992 with BMW E30s and later E36s. But behind the success, Vic Lee was running a second operation. The team kept traveling to Zandvoort to “test,” which raised suspicion. It turned out they were using the race transporter to smuggle “white” back into the UK. Authorities eventually stopped them and found 40 kilos worth about £6 million. Vic Lee was sentenced to 12 years, released in 1998, then caught again in 2005 for the same thing and went back to prison. #btcc #e36 #bmw
