My birthday extravaganza- the 2025 San Diego book crawl! I made it to all 14 (although I missed a few photos) but unfortunately they ran out of mugs and gave me some misinformation (I’m looking at you Camino books) so I missed out on my final prize. It was a bummer but frankly I had a lot of fun! You’ll notice Apricot Yarns at Liberty Station was having a special event and I hit that up too. Don’t miss them or Needelcraft cottage if you’re a crafter (although needle craft is currently online only due to a landlord issue). If you can’t make all 14 stores but want to see a few on a visit here’s my ranking of my top 5 picks for San Diego: 5. Warwicks - it’s an institution and I always find great fashion books here 4. La Playa - this is small but mighty and they always have a fantastic curated selection of any book you can imagine 3. Hey Books - newest bookstore and it’s used. The people are so inviting and they have some amazing books in great condition- even kids! 2. Meet Cute - romance themed and they’ve even got a great selection of gifts and bookish things. Their new location is beautiful and I can’t get out of there without a bag full of books 1. Mysterious Galaxy - they do have a variety of books and even kids but the@focus is mysteries/thrillers and horror. I literally don’t think I’ve ever left with fewer than 5 books, usually ones I didn’t know I needed. They’re amazing. Do not miss out! I went to San Diego for work last week and begged my coworker to go visit @warwicksbooks …which didn’t take much begging because it was the La Jolla Wine & Art Festival last weekend 🍷 Warwick’s is the country’s oldest continuously family-owned and operated bookstore. #saturdayshoutout I thought I had more pictures from my time in La Jolla, but sometimes I’m just in the moment—AND THAT’S NOT A BAD THING!! The indie bookstore—Warwick’s—is well worth your time. My favorite part was how many staff recommendations the store had. I love that! They were also, friendly, kind and attentive. A+ Half of the store is all books and the other half is filled with cards, stationary and gifts. Don’t forget to go visit the seals while you’re in La Jolla.
