📍WAVE CAVE TRAIL [SAVE] for future reference this 3 mile out and back trail begins at the Carney Springs trailhead located along Peralta Road near Apache Junction, AZ. it features amazing views of the Superstition Mountains, as well as some great photo opportunities, including “surfing” the wave 🏄🏼‍♀️ (my sister-in-law and I shared a few laughs while taking these silly surfing photos 😂) be sure to bring plenty of water and wear sun protection as this trail is exposed the entire way. HOW TO GET TO THE WAVE CAVE 🌊✋this cave is accessible via a 3 mile strenuous hike up the Superstition Mountains to this amazing cave that resembles a big ole ocean wave! 🥾 Location: Peralta Road via the Carney Springs trailhead Water: you should bring at least 3 big bottles per person Trail difficulty: flat-ish for the first 1/2 mile then steep climb then SCRAMBLE up the side of the mountain. It’s all hands and feet on deck lol. Views: AMAZING / it’s almost a spiritual experience being up in the mountains like that ✨😍 Things that can go wrong…. When you get to the gate, CLIMB UP! Don’t make a left. We took the wrong trail and never made it to the cave once before. The cave can be seen from the very bottom of the trail. Lastly, LEAVE NO TRACE! This means carrying in/out everything and using the restroom (if needed) off the trail and in a tiny hole you can carve with your shoe! Any questions??
