We Should’ve Never Reeled It In…” — The Crew’s Final Catch #sea #ocean #mermaid #mermaids #fish

I’m about to get cooked aren’t I? 😂😂😂 Jokes aside, one of my favorite things about editing our longer-form videos for YouTube is going through and matching various shots that were taken at the same time, but with different equipment! It really gives you that “nature documentary” feel! When I first started filming whales it was mostly a solo operation, but working as a team is much more fulfilling! I’m lucky to have such a talented partner in @erica.sackrison along with the rest of the @gonewhalewatching team that captures these amazing animals so beautifully!

Still in awe from today’s incredible whale encounter 🐋✨ There’s something truly humbling about sharing a moment with these magnificent creatures, gliding through the vast ocean like they’ve been doing for centuries. Being eye to eye with a humpback whale calf is unforgettable. Glad to have shared it with the best dive buddies! 📷: @jaimeepaul MPR/DIREN 003416 Aimeho Private Escapes #frenchpolynésia #humpbackwhale #calf #baby

this is not AI🐋 . From one second to the next, I was surrounded by around 20 sperm whales somewhere in the 3000-meter-deep waters. These giants were just there beside me — and some of them even interacted with me. See for yourself on my profile🐋

✨My abandoned-whale videos went viral — then this marine park went straight into panic mode. After my videos about the two abandoned orcas and dozens of dolphins trapped inside a defunct marine park went viral…Marineland Antibes in France began scrambling. Over 100 million views… more than 30 years of accumulated watch time… shared all over the world — together, we demanded that their story was heard. For the first time in months workers were ordered to start cleaning up the tanks. The algae-covered enclosures where dolphins were once held… suddenly scrubbed. Some dolphins from my earlier videos are now missing , we do not know if they have been removed or passed away And notice this: new toys appearing in the orca tank — an attempt to control the optics, to make it look like the whales are suddenly doing better or to appear that the neglected staff is doing their due diligence when it comes to enrichment—something I’ve been heavily criticizing in my press interviews. And these strange new devices seen floating in the water—these aren’t random. They’re desensitization apparatus’ — early steps in pre-transport training. Orcas are incredibly perceptive, and these objects help them stay calm around unfamiliar structures used during relocation. Before an orca is moved, buoyant pieces that resemble lifting gear are often introduced — teaching the animal to accept touch, pressure, and new shapes. None of these changes would be happening without you. Every share. Every comment. Every voice demanding answers. Together, we’re making history — transforming social media into a worldwide petition for change. This isn’t social media. This is a social movement. Please share ✨ — Seph Lawless

All of us that grew up as marine biology nerds have known that Sperm Whales feed on giant squid. We knew from text books that showed the scars from suckers and also the stomach contents revealed during the whaling era. But never have I seen such incredible video evidence as captured by @lud_adventure ! Bravo! It’s still a mystery how they actually hunt them. Certainly their sonar is involved…can it stun these massive squid? #giantsquid #spermwhale.
