If two things or people are completely different, don’t always use the word “different” to say this! In today’s video, I give you some alternatives to this very common adjective that you could actually hear people use in everyday conversations, and as always, I want to see your own examples with these alternatives in the comments! Take note of the following adjectives, expressions, and idioms that we can use to express two things or people are completely different: 🔹(like) night and day = if two things are totally different, we can either say that they’re LIKE night and day, or that they’re just night and day. We often use this idiom to compare how something was in the past to how it is now, and it’s often used to compare something negative to something positive: The healthcare system here and the one I had back home are like night and day... I couldn’t even afford good life insurance in my home country! 🔹a whole new/different ball game = if a situation is a whole new/different ball game, it’s a completely different situation compared to another one. This expression is one of many baseball-themed idioms that we commonly use here in the U.S.: Before the pandemic hit, I had been teaching for over 20 years, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the switch to online learning; it was a whole different ball game. 🔹unlike = if one person or thing is unlike someone or something else, this simply means that it’s different from it; it’s also commonly used in a short phrase that you can put at the end of a sentence: This beach is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! This phone has quite a long battery life, unlike the previous model. 🔹polar opposites = if two things are complete opposites, we can use the phrase “polar opposites” to describe them. We can also say that they couldn’t be more different: Her taste in music couldn’t be more different than mine and we’ve always been polar opposites personality-wise, but we’ve still always gotten along well. Were any of these new for you, or did you already know them? Let me know in the comments, and thank you so much for watching! 😄 . . . . . #esl #learnenglish #advancedenglish #englishidioms

Rare words speak louder 🔍 😱 Follow @ml_ka_keeda for more such videos TF-IDF is a text representation technique that improves Bag of Words. Instead of just counting words, it measures: 👉 How important a word is in a sentence compared to 👉 How common it is across all sentences 🔹 Full Form TF → Term Frequency IDF → Inverse Document Frequency Together: TF-IDF = Importance Score of a Word 🔹 Why Do We Need It? In BoW, common words like: “is”, “the”, “and” get high importance just because they appear often ❌ But they don’t carry much meaning. TF-IDF fixes this by: ✔️ Increasing importance of rare words ✔️ Reducing importance of common words 🔹 How It Works It has 2 parts: ⸻ 1️⃣ Term Frequency (TF) Measures: 👉 How often a word appears in a sentence More appearances → higher importance ⸻ 2️⃣ Inverse Document Frequency (IDF) Measures: 👉 How rare the word is across all sentences If a word appears everywhere → less useful If it appears in few sentences → more important Formula images are from @geeks_for_geeks #nlp #datascience #machinelearning #punchmonkey #fyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

What does it mean to validate your child and how does it differ from accommodating your child?    We talk a lot about acknowledging your child’s feelings, letting them feel all their feelings as long as they need, not trying to “fix” or rush through them… this is all tied to validation.    Here is an important distinction 🚨 Hearing all of your child’s wants does not mean you grant all of their wants… it only means you hear them, with authentic understanding and empathy 🚨    While you validate and empathize, you are still the parent, still in charge, still setting clear boundaries, still the one making the decisions.    Let’s say your child is having a rough morning… that’s perfectly ok and we’ve all been there ❤️You allow them to have a hard time, even cry… but what else is happening while they’re feeling their feelings? You can still… get their shoes on, get them in the car, off to school etc.    ✅ Because life doesn’t stop because of an emotion. The emotion is part of life and we continue to move forward while we’re feeling how we feel as best we can. (This is tied to coping, regulation, self-management)    Of course, this is not easy. It won’t always work as planned (nothing in parenting does 😉) And, of course, it’s easier to get a happy child dressed and fed… I totally get that.     ➡️ Still, I want you to know that you don’t have to put everything on hold, waiting for your child to be “happy again.”  ➡️ You don’t have to bargain, negotiate or give in.  ➡️ AND, it’s important for them to see that their big emotions don’t freeze you or scare you into immobility.    Ok, so what can that sound like ⬇️    ✅“I hear you… I know this is tough… Still, we need to do it.”    ✅“You can cry, that’s ok… I’m picking you up now to leave and you can stay upset if you’d like.”    ✅“I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time, sweetie… I know you will figure this out. We still need to get ready.”    Follow @dr.siggie for more practical parenting tips. Word of the Day 📚 REGARDLESS A word that means without concern or despite something. “But what about irregardless?” It’s often used the same way… but it’s considered nonstandard and unnecessary since regardless already says it all. Split personality is NOT supernatural. It’s a trauma-response disorder where the mind creates extra personalities to survive what the child could not handle. Each identity has its own emotions, memories, and behaviors — all inside one body. The human mind is far more powerful, complex, and protective than we think. 🧠✨ Respect people with DID. They are survivors, not “characters. #DID #SplitPersonality #MentalHealthAwareness #PsychologyFacts #TraumaHealing #MindBlowingFacts #HumanBrain #MentalHealthEducation #DissociativeIdentityDisorder #ScienceReels #DidYouKnow #BrainFacts #StayCurious #ViralReels #likesharefollow Did you like this reel ?

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are organizational frameworks that seek to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented, marginalized, or subject to discrimination based on identity or disability. It does stuff like providing braille for the visually impaired. It is not responsible for the actual hiring of these people. It was also started for veterans and their families.
