Dynamic Programming, the most feared technical interview topic, has an interesting story behind its name. Most concepts in computer science have self-describing names, but dynamic programming - not so much. A technique that is about breaking down a problem into subproblems, and applying recursion, and performing iterative optimizations. In what sense is it dynamic? Why programming? Isn’t it what we do with computers anyways? It turns out, Richard Bellman, the creator of Dynamic Programming, intentionally named it to be confusing. When Bellman was working on the concept at RAND Corporation, he was afraid that his work wouldn’t get funded as the people in charge of funding at the time didn’t want to fund research projects, even less so mathematical research projects. So he chose a name for his research that was intentionally vague so that the bureaucrats wouldn’t cut it from the budget. In his autobiography he wrote: “…I thought dynamic programming was a good name. It was something not even a Congressman could object to. So I used it as an umbrella for my activities.” #algorithmtips #codinginterviews #techinterviewtips #dynamicprogramming #interview #bellman #richardbellman #dp #algorithm #datastructures #computerscience

It’s a feeling you won’t forget. #tech #coding #fyp #learning #programming #aesthetic

the original vibe coding? ☔️ spent a good chunk of last night rediscovering music and coding little sounds that would fit right into an indie game soundtrack. i’m no professional, but the fact that code doubles as a creative medium is genuinely one of my favorite things about it. my first attempts were pretty rough (dissonant and forgettable) but this one actually sounds like it could work as loading screen music, so here it is. reminder: try new things for the joy of it, not just to reach some endpoint. fit from @aelfricedenofficial #coding
