The Kiswah is honored because it covers the Sacred House. However, the cloth itself does not hold barakah that can be taken, preserved, or used for protection. Barakah comes from Allah alone. Intentionally removing threads also damages property of the Haram. The Kabah is to be respected and preserved, not altered. And this is where responsibility comes in. If you witness practices that have no basis in the Sunnah, it becomes part of your duty to gently educate with wisdom and kindness. Not with humiliation. Not with aggression. But with clarity. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to correct wrong in the best possible manner. That includes advising softly, sharing authentic knowledge, and preventing misunderstandings from spreading. Makkah is an emotional place. People want to take something home. But what you should take back is not a thread. What is the Kiswa? The word Kiswa (or Kiswah) refers to the black cloth that covers the Kaaba in Masjid al-Haram, in Makkah.
