MOST EXPENSIVE months to travel Japan and when to come instead for a cheaper alternative ✨ ❌mid-December to early January (MOST EXPENSIVE due to the festive period) ✅Mid January to February ❌Late March to April (VERY EXPENSIVE due to the cherry blossoms season) ✅Early March ❌Late April to Early May (EXPENSIVE because of the Golden Week which is Japan’s biggest public holiday) ✅Mid to late May ✅June to July (if you don’t mind the rain and humidity) ❌August (EXPENSIVE due to the Obon holiday, summer and firework festivals) ✅September (but make sure to avoid the Silver Week which is happening in 2026) ❌November to Early December (EXPENSIVE as this is one of the peak tourism months in Japan for the Autumn foliage) ✅October My personal favourite month in Japan is May because it’s not too cold, hot or raining and it’s the perfect sweater weather, the best part is it’s not too expensive 🌟 Which month will you be travelling to Japan? #japan #japantrip #traveltips

And honestly? I think I had the perfect “ending” to this trip! 🗼 TOKYO (3 Days) - Does Tokyo even need an introduction? All I’ll say is, this is not just a city, it’s an immense metropolitis prefecture - it could genuinely be its own country, and there’s not enough days to see everything.😅 🌸 KANAZAWA (3 Days) - This was my favorite city! It has a deep Samurai culture, home to one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens, the Kenrokuen, and honestly - the people we’re the biggest highlight. I originally planned 2 full days + a day trip to Shirakawago that unfortunately fell through, but in the end, I’m glad I had more time in Kanazawa. ⛩️ KYOTO (2 Days) - Full honesty: I need a re-do with Kyoto, and I would love to visit during shoulder-season. It’s a beautiful city, but different from what I originally expected, so my plans felt thrown off. 🍡 OSAKA (2 Days) - The “Kitchen of Japan”. Along with Tokyo and Kyoto, Osaka is the third destination for the Golden Route. It’s just 30 minutes away from Kyoto, and so completely different. This is the ultimate destination for the foodies and lively night scene 🌃 TOKYO (2 Days) - taking this opportunity to canguro over Tokyo, what a spectacular and cool city it is!! It broke my heart leaving and I can’t wait to be back and see everything it has to offer - it’s immense.😅 🗻 LAKE KAWAGUCHIKO (2 Days) - Ending in a small, quiet town with Mount Fuji looking over and a traditional ryokan stay was the perfect ending to 2 weeks in Japan. Also, as a celiac, this is where I had the BEST gluten free meal in Japan, and also the best tuna sashimi of my life. Want my more details on the destinations, or see the 10 day version? Send this to someone who needs to book Japan this year🇯🇵🛩️ and read below for helpful tips! I’m not saying you should plan a trip to Japan this year… but if you do, here’s what you need to know: • Japan is one of the easiest countries in the world to travel- trains are clean, fast, and incredibly reliable (but you need to understand how to book them properly) • Cash is still useful in many smaller shops and temples, even though cards are widely accepted in cities • Day trips completely change the experience- places like Nara, Nikko, Kamakura, Kawaguchiko, and Uji add nature, culture, and history you won’t get in just Tokyo or Kyoto • Go early. Temples, markets, and popular areas feel 10x more magical before 9am • Some restaurants require reservations well in advance- especially specialty sushi or high-end spots • Hotel location matters more than you think. Staying near the right train lines can save you hours It’s one of those countries that feels overwhelming to plan but once you’re there, it’s all worth it✨ If Japan is even slightly on your mind this year, take this as your sign. perfect 12-day Japan trip🇯🇵must see locations👇 Some tips: Google Maps (works perfectly in Japan), GO or Didi app (their version uber), and Google Translate with offline Japanese downloaded. While Japan is increasingly card-friendly, carry cash for smaller restaurants, temples, and local shops. The trains are your best friend here once you get the hang of the system. IC cards like Suica make local transport effortless💯 Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments😄 Locations👇 🗼TOKYO Shibuya Crossing Shibuya Sky Harajuku Meiji Shrine Senso-ji Temple Asakusa Tokyo Skytree Akihabara Tsukiji Outer Market Ginza teamLab Borderless Shinjuku Gyoen Garden Golden Gai Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building 🗻FUJI Lake Kawaguchi Arakurayama Sengen Park Observatory Tenku no Torii Hirano beach Shimoyoshida Honcho Street ⛩️KYOTO Fushimi Inari Shrine Gion District Pontocho Alley Arashiyama Bamboo Grove Tenryu-ji Temple Iwatayama Monkey Park Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) Ryoan-ji Nishiki Market Kiyomizu-dera Sannenzaka & Ninenzaka Streets Philosopher’s Path 🦌NARA Todai-ji Temple Nara Park Kasuga Taisha Shrine Mount Yoshino 🍱OSAKA Osaka Castle Dotonbori Shinsaibashi Kuromon Market Shinsekai Umeda Sky Building 🏯HIMEJI Himeji Castle Kokoen Garden Are you planning to visit Japan this year?😌 #japan #japantrip #japanitinerary #travel

This Japan itinerary saves you weeks of planning. 🇯🇵✨ After traveling to Japan multiple times, here’s what I’ve learned:the order and balance of your itinerary matters more than how many places you cram in. That’s why this 14-day plug-and-play route works so well 👇 🌸 Days 1–5: TokyoBig energy, endless neighborhoods, incredible food, and culture shock in the best way. This is where you adjust, explore, and fall in love with Japan’s rhythm. While in Tokyo, try to avoid the super touristy areas and wader neighborhoods that are less common. 🌸 Days 6–9: Kansai Area(Kyoto… with intention)Avoid super popular places destinations. Visit some of the temples and historic streets — but slow it down.My personal take: you can skip Osaka on your first trip. After Tokyo, it often feels redundant.A smaller town will give you contrast, not more crowds. 🌸 Days 10–14: Kofu / Mount Fuji regionThis is where most itineraries fall short — and where yours gets good.Quiet streets. Local food. Onsen. Mountain views.Japan at a human pace. ✨ Want to swap things around?Instead of Osaka or Kyoto, consider places that actually change the feel of your trip:– A preserved mountain town like Takayama– A culture-rich city like Kanazawa– Or a nature-forward base in Nagano That’s the difference between checking boxes and having memories you still think about years later. Japan isn’t just Tokyo–Kyoto–Osaka. And once you see what’s beyond that route… it’s hard to travel any other way ✨ 💾 Save this for your 2026 Japan trip💬 Comment “ITINERARY” if you want help customizing this or planning the whole thing with us #japantraveltips #traveljapan #japantravels #japanitinerary #japantrip

Japan first timers? 👀✨🇯🇵 Comment “SUSHI” for my full 10-day Japan itinerary! 🚨🍣 Flying in and out of Tokyo? Say less. This 10 day Japan itinerary for first timers was designed exactly for that ✈️🇯🇵 You’ll kick things off in Tokyo, jumping straight into Japan with buzzing neighborhoods, iconic sights, and those moments that instantly make the trip feel real. The perfect way to start. Then comes Hakone, aka the pause button. Hot springs, mountain air, slower mornings, and views that make you exhale. A short stop, but a nice one after the whirlwind of the last few days. Next up is Kyoto. Calm, historic, and full of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that somehow end up being your favorites. Early mornings, ancient streets, and a completely different pace from Tokyo. After that, it’s Osaka. Lively, casual, and food-forward in the best way 🍜 Nights feel longer here, and meals turn into memories very quickly. And finally, you loop back to Tokyo for a strong finish. Last-minute shopping, revisiting favorite neighborhoods, and one final night to soak it all in before heading home. This 10 days in Japan route is perfect if you: ✨ are visiting Japan for the first time ✨ want to hit the highlights ✨ want variety without chaos ✨ are flying round-trip through Tokyo If Japan’s been calling your name, this is your sign 🇯🇵✈️ #japantravel #japanitinerary #blacktravelbloggers #blacktravelmovement #travellifestyle
