Getting from my wheelchair to a plane seat isn’t an easy process. ♿️✈️ It requires me transferring from my wheelchair to an aisle chair, which is a narrow chair that can fit down the aisle of the plane. And then once I make it on the plane, I have to be transferred from the aisle chair to my seat on the plane. Being transferred by the airport crew can be tricky, and in the past I’ve even been dropped. But when it goes right, I am sooo happy! Today in Boise, the staff did a FANTASTIC job transferring me (as you can see in this video) and I am super grateful for them. My DIY Wheelchair Wrap n Roll. It was easy to make. I got my old GAP coat (from 2007 So I really had my moneys worth out of this!) We cut off the arms and sewed them up. Saved it from going to landfill. . 👩🏼‍🦽It fits perfectly over my legs, keeping me warm and dry. I just Wrap n Roll! It’s so easy to get off to transfer into the car if its raining, or If pop into a cafe.   . 🧵 If like me you can’t sew. You can just tuck the amrs in. My very kind neighbour did this for me over lockdown. . ✏️Top tips Remove the hood, or hood can be used as a hand cozy wile still attached. EgyptAir had this lovely little aisle chair for me to use in Cairo last year and I almost fell out of it 5 times. It was a nightmare.
