Under high pressure and relatively low temperature,�minerals rich in sodium and aluminum�slowly crystallize into jadeite. When the structure is clean and free of strong coloring elements�like chromium or iron,�the result is white jadeite. But it’s not perfectly “empty.” Look closely,�and you may see a soft, milky or misty texture —�caused by fine, interwoven crystals scattering light.
