Let’s talk window treatments… Firstly, this is not the first window treatment we’ve had in our living room. When we moved in we had Roman blinds and they did not provide the privacy we wanted during the day or control over the light flow in the space. So here’s where my shutter hunt began. We scoured the market for a bargain, and finally came up trumps with the best offer. We paid just over 1k (at the time) for our bay windows and our other window in the lounge. Are you thinking this is expensive? in the world of shutters this is CHEAP. All other quotes came in at over 5k! Madness. So now we’ve covered the cost. Why are they worth it? When choosing your shutters there are so many options to choose from. We went for large panels in white and ours are hard wood. (You can also get plastic which is even cheaper and Mdf) You can also choose to have a visible control rod in the centre of each window or to the side. I opted against this as I wanted the option of being able to move the top and bottom panes to different angles. This is great as you can dictate the light in the room across the whole window treatment. Allowing you to have the top panes closed and the bottom open. This is great for stopping sun glare on the tv. Or when you’re playing with the little ones (no sun in our eyes over here). They also provide ultimate privacy and the most adjustment which is essential for us. Having lived life without my shutters I can honestly say these were a great investment and one worth considering. Ours also concertina out so we can easily clean behind them. Without having to completely remove them like perfect fit shutters. We got ours from @shutterlyfabulous So what do you think? I was originally quoted £700 just to fit shutters on this one window… So naturally, I had a little lie down first 😅Ad - gifted I am not a DIY girl. Like… if it involves tools, I usually pretend it doesn’t exist. But these @blinds2go shutters were actually way easier than I expected. No drilling (thankfully), no stress, no “why did I start this?” moment halfway through. The wide slats let in so much more light than the old blinds ever did too and now they are up the room feels totally different. 🙌🏻 I went for the Click2Go Smooth White No Drill ones because if I can avoid putting holes in the walls, I absolutely will. Room by room is the only way this house is ever getting done. But I’m genuinely so glad I gave this a go.
