Test- and Trainingjump with the Wingsuit Foil a few months ago! Around 53 seconds of flying on less than 500 meters of usable altitude! Wing configuration was not perfect but we were getting closer to the final version 👐 If you look more closely than you will see some threads 🧵 on the foil. This is how we checked the airflow after a testjump, adapted the configuration and jumped again! That’s how progress can work … Exitshot @michaelmaili #wingsuit #wingsuitfoil #basejump #flying #wingsuitbase #givesyouwings #redbull

A few words from Espen Fadnes on his Road flight… “I used my AURA Alpinist version (ultralight) for this jump. I needed a very quick start and high glide ratio in the first 20 seconds of the jump in order to be set up for a good old wingsuit swoop. To do this type of jump it helps to have substantial experience in performance comps, as it is vital to understand how you perform on flat GR (here 10:1) and how long you can hold it. You also need a well-rounded suit with good start performance and a high max glide ratio, which can also flare well and have a low stall speed. And by the way, this was the coolest wingsuit flight I have done since I opened Bispen for wingsuit 20 years ago. Great 20 years anniversary:) Bispen is so awesome!!” @espenfadnes Aura 5 Alpine + CXUL.XL + IBEX.UL 220 + Snatch 38'' https://squirrel.ws/wingsuits/aura6 #SQRL #flysquirrel #aura6

The first skydives with my new @redbull wingsuit. 😍 This aerodynamic suit is a @squirrel.ws C-race+ 2023 model and is the most powerful that exists; it's like the race horse of wingsuits. 🤘🏻 In 2024, I will be working on a project with @redbulluk that requires long-distance wingsuit flying. That is why I chose this specific flying tool. I was a bit nervous before the first jump, as my task was to 'tame' the race horse. 🐎 I decided to split my training jumps into two sections: the first half of the jump flying as far as I could, and then the second half playing around and breaking in the suit to make it less intimidating. 🙂 Fourteen jumps later, and I start to feel like the master of this flying race horse. Although, I need to get stronger in my arms to achieve the distance we are aiming for! 💪 📸@espenfadnes - @gopro #wingsuiting #redbullwingsuit

Here are some key facts about wingsuit flying: 1. **Wingsuit Design**: A wingsuit, also called a birdman suit or squirrel suit, is a specially designed jumpsuit with fabric wings between the arms and legs. The suit allows the wearer to glide through the air by increasing surface area, creating lift as they descend. It’s used by skydivers and base jumpers to extend their freefall and control their flight path. 2. **Control and Glide Ratio**: Wingsuit flyers can control their direction and descent rate by adjusting their body position and manipulating the fabric wings. A typical wingsuit has a glide ratio of about 2.5:1, meaning for every meter descended, the flyer can move forward 2.5 meters. This allows them to cover significant horizontal distances during a flight. 3. **High-Speed Flying**: Despite the gliding capabilities, wingsuit flying involves high speeds, with flyers often reaching velocities of 100 to 150 mph (160 to 240 km/h). The speed and control require excellent training, as wingsuit flying is extremely dangerous without proper experience and skill. 4. **Risk and Thrill**: Wingsuit flying is one of the most extreme and dangerous forms of aerial sports. Even experienced wingsuit flyers face significant risks due to the high speeds, the need for precise control, and the potential for collision with terrain during base jumps. Despite the dangers, it is a popular sport for thrill-seekers and has a dedicated community worldwide. #aviation #wingsuit #extremesports #adventureflying #wingsuitflying

Jacob Weintraub nailing one of his first wingsuit BASE jumps with the help of Mr James Boole As well as being an acro flying machine, the Havok is a great entry level suit for the confident BASE jumper transitioning from wingsuit skydiving to wingsuit BASE. The balance of the suit provides easy exits, it is highly intuitive to fly and with unmatched stability. The curved wing profile makes it easy to control and the gripperless armwing design provides an easy pull. The Phantom or Shadow remain our number 1 recommendation for your first Wingsuit BASE jumps. This is due to the reduced surface area making mistakes easier to handle. However for the confident jumper, Havok remains a solid choice.

🔊 SOUND ON! 🔊 Here’s a video edit of a nice wingsuit BASE jump we did this summer in the Dolomites with @laurencefugen It’s a full lenth jump with the audio recorded so you can really see and hear what’s going on while we fly. We always use the coms, on every jump, skydiving and BASE jumping. It’s a great way for me to coach and guide Laurence on every flight as it is her first season of wingsuit BASE jump. It’s so efficient and fun! I hope you will enjoy this more immersive video!
