Dear Listener, I spoke as the stick, not as the blind man. That is the highlight here. We cannot control others' actions. People may stay grateful to us, they may acknowledge our help, they may be there for us because we were there for them once. Or they simply may not. But it is only going to disappoint us if we expect them to do all of that, no matter what. It is our expectations that hurt us more than their actions. The lesson I learned over the years is to do our part and not expect even a thank-you in return. Anything returned is only a bonus. His significant contributions to poetry have earned him numerous prestigious honors, including the Firaq Gorakhpuri Award, the Kalidas Samman, and the Mir Taqi Mir Award.
