Before spring break, my students went undercover as their favorite Harry Potter characters in a top-secret writing mission! Their task? Write a letter to Harry, in disguise—dropping hints, famous lines, and key details from the novel… but never revealing their true identity! My job? Decode the clues and guess who wrote each letter. (Spoiler: They had way too much fun trying to trick me😂). This “Secret Agent Notes” lesson from Super Simple Sheets was an absolute hit! It had my students diving deep into character perspective, pulling evidence from the text, and flexing their creativity—all while giggling over their sneaky disguises. The best part? This can work with any novel study, or read aloud! Imagine writing as a character from The One and Only Ivan, Percy Jackson, or Charlotte’s Web! The possibilities are truly endless. Who doesn’t love a lesson that gets kids thinking AND having fun?🪩💃🏼

Which learning style are you? We don’t all learn the same way, and many of us fluctuate between one learning style and another depending on the task. If you’ve ever struggled with a particular class, or even a particular teacher, chances are they posited a learning style unsuited to your needs. Knowing which style (or two) best fits you, will help you find the appropriate way to tackle your work, especially when the going gets tough. That said, here are the 4 main learning styles, and how you might identify which one you are… 1. Visual Learners - How they learn best: Through images, diagrams, charts, maps, and color-coded notes. - Signs you are one: You love doodling in your notes, prefer slides over lectures, and remember faces better than names. - Best tools to use: Mind maps, flashcards with visuals, videos, infographics, color-coded notes. 2. Auditory Learners - How they learn best: By hearing and speaking. They retain info through discussions, lectures, podcasts, and verbal instructions. - Signs you are one: You remember things you hear, enjoy reading aloud, or talk through problems to understand them. - Best tools: Study groups, voice notes, explaining out loud, audiobooks. 3. Reading/Writing Learners - How they learn best: Through text, reading and writing things down helps the info stick. - Signs you are one: You prefer written instructions, enjoy writing summaries, and retain info from reading better than from watching videos. - Best tools: Note-taking, rewriting material, lists, textbooks, journaling. 4. Kinaesthetic Learners - How they learn best: By doing…they retain information through hands on experience, movement, and real world application. - Signs you are one: You struggle to sit still during lectures, enjoy learning through experience, and love using your hands. - Best tools: Role play, labs, building models, interactive tools, moving while studying. Bearing in mind that most people gravitate towards two styles, which are you?.. and is there one you should probably try? #studygram #studyinspiration #studymotivation #studytips #desksetup #studymood #studyaesthetic #studynotes #studycommunity #aestheticstudy #studyspo #studywi̇thme

Everyone thinks toppers have super brains. But honestly? They just do things so weirdly simple that no one else bothers to try. Here’s how they secretly make full marks look “effortless” 👇 1️⃣ They write notes like teachers, not students. → Instead of writing everything, they write what can be asked. → They think like paper setters — not note-takers. 2️⃣ They repeat the same topic 5 times — but never the same way. → 1st time → read → 2nd → underline → 3rd → summarize → 4th → teach someone → 5th → recall without notes → That’s how they remember everything without burnout. 3️⃣ They fake-test themselves before every chapter ends. → They make their own mini test. → Write on paper, check it, and find weak spots before the teacher does. 4️⃣ They don’t chase motivation — they chase momentum. → They know one small task leads to another. → Instead of waiting to “feel like studying,” they just start with 2 minutes. 5️⃣ They don’t avoid boring topics — they trick their brain. → They pair boring chapters with music, timer challenges, or pretty notes. → It’s not smartness — it’s survival 😭 ⸻ ✨ BONUS TIPS: ⭐ Write your own “Topper Manual” — every time you score well, note what you did differently. ⭐ Study when others scroll — the silent hours are your weapon. ⭐ End your day by asking: “If tomorrow’s exam was at 9 AM, what would I revise now?” ⸻ Save this before exams hit 🔖 Because sometimes… the dumbest methods are the ones that actually make you a topper.

Introduction to procedural writing 1️⃣ Bring in random kitchen gadgets 2️⃣ Split students up into groups 3️⃣ Each group randomly chooses one gadget (I put them in a bag and students reached in without looking) 4️⃣ Give each group one piece of chart paper and 2 markers 5️⃣ Task ➡️ Write down step by step how to use it 6️⃣ Present to the class Follow for Part 2. . . • • • #proceduralwriting #writinglesson #teachingwriting #elateacher #manitobateacher #middleschoolteacher #albertateacher #ontarioteacher #homeschoolideas #writingassignment #studentgroupwork #engagedlearners
