Cellphone outage hits AT&T customers nationwide; Verizon and T-Mobile users also affected. Tens of thousands of AT&T customers have been reporting outages this morning for their home phone, internet and mobile phone services, according to Downdetector. The outages started popping up just before 3:30 a.m. ET, according to a graph shown on the website that tracks outages.  Most users, 55%, say they are having issues with mobile phone service. More than a third of customers reporting being affected say they have no signal at all, and 8% of users say their mobile internet is down. AT&T did not immediately respond to a Fox Business inquiry regarding the outage, but the more than 33,000 who reported to Downdetector may be starting to see services returning. Most reported locations of customers impacted are in the south and southeast U.S. Downdetector also showed a spike in reported T-Mobile outages around 4:00 a.m. ET. BREAKING: Far-right network Newsmax suffers a historic defeat and agrees to pay Dominion Voting Systems a jaw-dropping $67 settlement to end a lawsuit over its false news coverage of the 2020 election. Donald Trump’s favorite network just destroyed one of his favorite lies and it gets even better… “We are pleased to have settled this matter,” said a Dominion spokeswoman. Dominion filed a lawsuit against Newsmax in 2021 for $1.6 billion after the network alleged without evidence or truth that the company’s voting machines had been exploited to rig the election against Trump. The accusations were always self-evidently false but Newsmax knew that it could rake in profits by telling MAGA voters exactly what they wanted to hear. As a result, our democracy was deeply damaged and Dominion’s reputation was tarnished. In April, a judge predictably ruled that there was “clear and convincing evidence” that Newsmax had defamed Dominion but the trial ended up getting delayed for months. “Newsmax believed it was critically important for the American people to hear both sides of the election disputes that arose in 2020,” the network stated after the settlement was reached. “We stand by our coverage as fair, balanced, and conducted within professional standards of journalism.” They intend on paying out the massive settlement in installment payments over the next three fiscal years, a structured approach that highlights just how damaging this loss is to their bottom line. Taken in consideration with the $787 million settlement that Fox News paid out to Dominion in 2023, this news amounts to a resounding dismantling of Trump’s continued claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
