🇳🇵 Let’s talk about our Yaks 🇳🇵 I am extremely proud of the Yaks we sell, my relationship with the dairy we buy from and the knowledge they have. Did you now Yak bars where originally made for human consumption, and called Chhurpi? The self life on a Yak bar is actually years if stored correctly. There is a lot of Fake Yak bars out there, that are made from cows milk rather than yak or the mix of the two is a very low percentage of Yak milk compared to cows milk. Our Yaks have over 85% Yak milk and sometimes more depending on the batch. A small amount of cows milk is used in all the flavoured bars made at the factory, around 8% We are getting some 99% Yak milk bars but they are very sessional and weather dependent as they are made high up in the Himalayan mountains and weather plays a big part in the natural drying methods, these only come in the Plain/Cheese flavour. We are also getting some Yak butter as a gift, the butter is in the video, the round balls you see. We can’t wait to have that on our toast😆 We are that Yak obsessed that myself and Ryan (the husband) are going to be visiting Nepal next year and going to the dairy we source our Yaks from to see the process with our own eyes, and hopefully visit some of the remote farmers up in the mountains too. The Yaks you see in the video, your dog will have actually had a chew made from them as that is one of the farms used by the company we buy from, still using the traditional way of milking the Yak too, no big dairy, or machines. They have lots of small farms they buy the milk from all over the mountains. You can see the 99% Yak milk bars hanging to dry at the farm and then you can see the flavoured bars on the drying rack. We are also just sorting our Christmas flavoured Yaks too🙌🏼 It’s Yak bar delivery day today and I can’t wait🦬
