Sending off the summer school holidays with a camping trip to Yamba! ⛺️ Here are 5 things that made it great and I recommend! But first… a bit of context. Yes we slept in a tent in an unpowered site but this was not exactly a “wilderness” getaway. There were facilities (oh, and let me tell you about these glorious facilities!) so it felt a little bit like cheating. However on day 5678 of the school holidays, going off grid was not my dream! 😂 🏕️ @big4saltwateryamba has an epic waterpark park and pool for the kids which they loved. There’s a swim up bar for the adults too 🍹#notsponsored 🎣 The campsite we chose was by the river so the boys took the boat out and caught some fish! You can fish from the shore too. 🍳 Camp food is the best food! Seafood, tacos, prawn salads, bacon and egg rolls, marshmallows. I’ll have all of it. Don’t worry, I still had my Friday night martini! 🍸 🍦The town is 15min away so we ventured out for gelato one hot afternoon and I recommend @yamba_fudge which is a cute retro lolly shop also selling 6 flavours of homemade Italian gelato. 🍻One of the nights was too windy for a fire cook up so we ate the iconic @pacific_hotel which has a meat raffle on Sundays (which our mates won 🙌🏻) and epic ocean views. ☕️ I loved @yumyumangouriecafegeneralstore for coffee and breakfast on our way home. It’s also a store filled with a beautiful selection of everything from Japanese writing paper and toolboxes to cookbooks and wine. Highly recommend. #yamba #yambacamping #yambafood #campingwithkids
