After I posted that reel earlier on today captioned “the flag has been freed, now time to abolish the date” I thought how bloody deadly, but after I started to look deeper into it and did my proper research and yarned with my mob, I realised how very sickening this whole scam really is!!! Two days before invasion day they decide the Aboriginal flag will now be owned by the commonwealth, just like our freedoms, just like our land, just like our beautiful Blak babies and countless communities. I thought this was a small win for our mob, but it really isn’t! This is a Band-Aid solution, like hush money that has potential to be used against us in the future. The fact that the government can pay 20 million for our own flag and not even include us in our own affairs is more per formative bs and we cannot expect anything less from this illegitimate corrupt government. So no, I will not thank the government for anything especially for supposedly buying the rights to our flag, for the flag means nothing if our mob are still suffering and still have no rights or freedoms on our own country! This year there will be major changes and it’s not because we relied on the government to help, it’s because we, the First Nations people of so called Australia are starting to take more action and change this country for the better of our own people by learning, empowering, listening and taking back what was stolen! We won’t stop fighting until we have our land back, we won’t stop fighting until proper justice is served, we won’t stop fighting until all our kids are returned, we won’t stop fighting until we take full ownership over our own affairs, we won’t stop fighting until all reparations are paid in full! How are we going to do this? By sticking together, not putting each other down. Let’s start yarning about solutions together, putting all our shit aside because if we don’t then the ones who truly suffer are our kids who deserve so much more!
