HOMEMADE YOGOS for episode 3 of my HOMEMADE NOSTALGIA series, where I show you how to recreate childhood recipes at home! On my Homemade Kudos Bar video, I received a few requests for Homemade Yogos, so I knew I had to make them for you guys ASAP! Yogos were discontinued just 5 years after they were produced even though they were incredibly popular in lunchboxes across the country. There’s speculation that the high sugar content and use of hydrogenated oils caused their demise, so I wanted to create a healthier version! These Yogos use only 6 ingredients, including dried fruits as the chewy fruity center. Make sure to BOOKMARK THIS RECIPE for later ✨ or head to yourhomemadehealthy.com (link in bio) for a more detailed recipe! ¾ cup yogurt chips (amazon link in bio!) 1 ½ teaspoons coconut oil ¼ cup dried blueberries ¼ cup dried strawberries ¼ cup dried cherries Red and blue natural food coloring (amazon link in bio!) 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Cut the dried strawberries into ½-inch pieces. Use your hands roll the strawberries and the dried cherries into small balls. 3. Melt ¼ cup yogurt chips and ½ teaspoon coconut oil in a small bowl in 30 second intervals in your microwave, stirring in between each interval, until melted and smooth. 4. Use 2 to 3 drops of food coloring to dye the melted yogurt chips pink, purple (red+blue dye), or blue. *only use up to 3 drops because more food coloring will cause the yogurt to cease up. 5. Using a toothpick, dip one dried blueberry at a time into the melted yogurt chips until fully coated. Use another toothpick to slide the fruit off of the first toothpick and place it onto the lined baking sheet. 6. Repeat steps 3 through 5, two more times to coat the strawberries, and then the cherries. 7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 5 minutes, or until the yogurt mixture hardens. 8. strawberry yoggies 🍓 I tried some @naturesgardenus strawberry yoggies since my mom got it from a friend, and then she gave them to me to try and it reminded me of Yogos from my childhood 😅 I love the chewy texture and the yogurt coating and its just a very nostalgic snack for me.
