🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT: 79TH PRECINCT & CITY MARSHAL ACCUSED OF VIOLATING COURT ORDER 🚨 Residents are raising serious concerns about an attempted unlawful eviction at 212 Jefferson Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11216, involving City Marshal David Smith and Sgt. Nicholas Weber of the 79th Precinct. Court Order Ignored A New York Supreme Court Stay Order (a temporary restraining order blocking eviction activity) was still in effect. Despite this, eviction actions continued, potentially violating both the court order and the homeowner’s rights. ⚠️ Alleged Misconduct NYPD has no authority to enforce evictions. Threats were made, including references to Protective Services—a known intimidation tactic often used against families Part of the confrontation was captured on video, including the city marshall stating: “I’m going to break in.” This raises urgent questions about misuse of authority and due process violations. 📣 WHAT THE COMMUNITY IS ASKING Residents are requesting the current eviction order from the court to verify whether any legal basis exists for these actions. If no order exists, the community demands accountability. 📍 Relevant Contacts Role Name / Badge # Contact City Marshal David Smith (Badge #30) 📞 718-978-8070 📍 One Cross Island Plaza, Rosedale NY 11422 NYPD Sergeant Nicholas Weber (79th Precinct) 📍 263 Tompkins Ave., Brooklyn NY 11216 ✊🏾 WHY THIS MATTERS Unlawful enforcement affects every homeowner. @NYPD Officers From The 79th Precinct Were Bored Today & Decided To Harass Brooklyn Rapper @RichGlizzy_ 🤬🤬🤬 Are These Officers Trying Too Hard To Secure Their First Arrest⁉️👀

CUFFH was on the scene this morning outside the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn, where NYC Council Member @cmchiosse @chiosse and four others were arrested while trying to stop a deed theft eviction. CM Ossé was pushed to the ground by NYPD officers, and along with the others sustained injuries as a result of his treatment by the NYPD. Black homeowners are routinely targeted by deed theft schemes in Central Brooklyn, and we must do more to prevent our communities from losing their homes — that’s why we’re calling on Governor Hochul to IMMEDIATELY enact an eviction moratorium for deed theft cases.

Deputy Inspector Hipólito Gil, Commanding Officer of the 79th Precinct, shared a heartfelt message for the students of P.S. 54, soon to be renamed the Detective Rafael Ramos School. #nypd #community #nyc #brooklyn #reels #school #backtoschool

Protestors congregated at the 79th Precinct station after Councilman @chiosse was slammed to the ground and arrested outside the home of Carmella Charrington on Jefferson Avenue earlier today. As the councilman for the 36th District, Ossé represents Bed-Stuy and parts of northern Crown Heights, two neighborhoods acutely impacted by the development practice of “deed theft,” or illegally transferring property ownership without the owner’s consent, or even knowledge. #deedtheft #chiosse #bedstuy #crownheights

One of my priorities is making sure we’re meeting neighbors where they are. Through our ward walks, we’re working to reach every door across the 9th District. While out in Olney, I had the chance to connect with Ms. Gail and hear directly from her about what matters most. Moments like this are exactly why we opened our 5th Street office, to make our services more accessible and stay connected to neighbors in every part of the district. If you see me out on your block, don’t hesitate to stop and talk. I’m always interested in learning the stories and meeting the people that make up our neighborhoods. This is what responsive government looks like, showing up, listening, and following through.
