What an incredible day of swimming, growth and opportunity! 🌊✨ Today, Central Gauteng Aquatics proudly hosted a Development Learn to Swim Gala on behalf of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture in Eldorado Park. This special event brought together swimmers from all five corridors — Western, Eastern, Southern, Northern and Central — for a day filled with learning, participation and celebration. It was truly inspiring to see so many young athletes take to the water with confidence and excitement. Events like these are about so much more than competition — they are about development, inclusion, access and creating pathways for future champions. 💙 A heartfelt thank you to the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture for entrusting us with this important initiative and for their continued commitment to growing aquatic sport at grassroots level. We are proud to partner in creating opportunities that make a real difference in our communities. KidSport Regional Pools Program is back in regional WA 🌞 Children aged 5 to 18 from low income regional families can now access their local pool for free through KidSport. It’s a simple way to remove the cost barrier and help kids stay active, safe and confident in the water 💦 KidSport eligible children will receive vouchers that cover pool entry fees. Good to know: • Registration must be done in person at either the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre or the Mount Barker Memorial Swimming Pool – you can only choose one • You’ll need a current health care or pensioner concession card showing each child’s reference number and a regional WA address • Please allow 48hrs for the pass to be made available • The program closes 19 April.
