Ahn Chi Em @anhchiem_highton 📍 Shop 14 65-71 Barrabool Road In, Taylor Ct, Highton VIC 3216 $$ REMEMBER: Food is subjective & what I like/dislike may be different to you! ✨ The people of Geelong has spoken - Ahn Chi Em was the most recommend Vietnamese restaurant for me to try so I had to go! 🫶🏽 INITIAL ENTRY It’s located in Highton Village and hidden well, hence why I’ve never noticed the place. 😅 Upon entry I was instantly greeted by the lovely owner (who looked after me & my parents well) & was seated promptly to our table. The environment was very much Modern Australian with hints of Vietnamese inspiration & super intimate - stunning! THE FOOD ✨Vietnamese pancake with Pork & Prawn 9/10 Oh I loved this dish tremendously. It was fresh, well made & the dressing was to die for. 🤤 The only reason it was not 10/10 was simply a preference of the pork - I found it a bit too porky personally but the prawns does compensate a lot for that. 😊 It is a great starter to share with a group! 😊 ✨ Pho with Rare Beef 9.5/10 At $21 this is not a cheap bowl of pho by any means. I was also mildly sad there was no beef ball option but the owner explained the situation & that it will be in the works in the future! 🫶🏽 The actual pho made me instantly happy it was sooo rich & smoky & the beef was excellent. With a beef ball it would’ve been 10/10. For my northern pho lovers unfortunately this pho is still sweet, but it’s definitely still a great bowl of pho! 🍜 ✨Barramundi with rice 8/10 Really solid meal that has to be eaten together. Individually the fish is quite strong but mix it with the rice, salad, egg & it makes a delicious & balanced meal. The savoury/bitter fish with the sweet, tangy dressing added with a fresh salad was chefs kiss. OVERALL Great service, great passion from everyone & great food!
