Winnie Mandela admits her ANC "rushed" into a bad deal with the racist regime to end apartheid. And says she quarrelled with husband Nelson for being too soft during negotiations. The final 1994 settlement saw land redistributed on a willing buyer, willing seller arrangement. The government purchased land from commercial farmers at market value and redistributed it to Black citizens. However, it relied on voluntary transactions and failed to achieve land transfer targets.
