Ruby Falls was accidentally discovered by Leo Lambert in 1928 deep inside Lookout Mountain in Chattanoooga, Tennessee. Leo named the waterfall and cave after his wife, Ruby, and opened the iconic Chattanooga attraction to the public in 1929. Can you believe this waterfall is in Georgia?! I was in complete awe when I saw it! Anna Ruby Falls is located minutes from Helen in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The paved 0.5 mile trail is absolutely gorgeous. We went after a rainstorm so the water was really flowing! ANNA RUBY FALLS - Beginner friendly hike in North Georgia, USA 🇺🇸 Located in Unicoi State Park, Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, near Helen, Georgia. It’s short, 0.4 miles each way, ADA-friendly and a round trip time of 1 hour. This hike is relatively easy if you’re just starting out on outdoor adventures. It’s also okay for first-time hikers as the beginning of the trail is flat. There’s a halfway stop on a small bridge. Here, you can see a stream flowing from the waterfall, onto the rocks and under the bridge. After the bridge, there is an incline on the rest of the hiking trail. Anna Ruby Falls is located in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest near Helen, Georgia and Unicoi State Park. The hike is an easy 1/2 mile paved trail. The cost to enter is $5/person for ages 16 and up, and free for ages 15 and under. The taller of these twin waterfalls is approximately 153 ft and is Curtis Creek, while the other drops 50 ft and is York Creek. They converge at the base forming Smith Creek.
