Stop shooting in manual 📸 Shoot in aperture priority mode instead You set the aperture (controls depth of field) And your camera handles shutter speed and ISO Fewer decisions, more focus on getting the shot Perfect for street, travel, sunset - anywhere light changes quickly I shoot aperture priority all the time Makes photography easier, simpler, more enjoyable Stop overcomplicating it 💪

How Aperture Works ⬇️ What does that F-stop mean on your camera? The lower the F stop, the more “open” your lens is and lets in more light. This makes your image brighter as well as increases “the depth of field” meaning items that are NOT your subject become blurry. So if you want more things in focus besides your subject use a higher aperture number. If you want less in focus then use a lower aperture. ALSO, increasing your aperture will make your image darker. I had to rack up my ISO here as my F-stop went higher to try and balance the image, so it doesn’t look as great but you get the idea Drop a comment if this helped you out ✨ . . . #aperture #cinematography #cinematographer #videography #filmmaking #videotips

How aperture actually works ⬇️ Aperture is the opening inside your lens.
It controls how much light hits the sensor and how much of the image is in focus.
That’s it. Two jobs. Big consequences. Here’s the breakdown: f/1.2 → Very shallow depth of field, creates strong subject isolation and a cinematic look f/2.8 → Provides subject separation, commonly used for interviews and brand content. f/6.3 → Greater depth of field with increased focus. Ideal for movement, and run-and-gun shooting. f/10 → Deep depth of field with clear detail, ideal for wide shots, interiors, and architecture. f/16 → Maximum depth of field with minimal background separation. Used in bright light when everything needs to stay sharp. Key takeaway:
Lower f-stop = more light and shallower depth of field
Higher f-stop = less light and greater depth of field Aperture choice should be intentional, based on the subject, movement, and the story you’re trying to tell. #cinematography #aperture #filmmaking #filmtips #creatorhacks

Camera Modes Explained in 30 Seconds! [ Camera modes basically decide how much control you want over your photo. In Auto mode, the camera handles everything for you — just like a phone camera. Manual mode gives you full control over ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. Aperture Priority lets you choose the blur or sharpness while the camera adjusts the rest. Shutter Priority lets you freeze action or create long exposures by choosing the shutter speed. Program mode is like an upgraded Auto where you can still tweak ISO and white balance. In short: modes decide how your camera “thinks” before clicking a photo.]

When I bought my first camera, I thought I’d instantly start taking stunning photos. ❗️Spoiler: I didn’t. 😅 Instead, I got blurry shots, weird lighting, and had no clue what all those buttons meant. So if you’re a beginner photographer or content creator just getting into the game, this is that starting point for you. Here are 4 simple things I wish I had done when I began 👇 ✅ Learn the exposure triangle — ISO controls the sensitivity of light, shutter speed controls the time of light, and aperture controls the amount of light. You don’t have to be a tech genius. Just get familiar. ✅ Shoot in natural light — Morning or golden hour light makes your photos look edited even when they’re not. ✅ Use just one lens — Stick to your kit lens and understand how it behaves in different scenes. Stop chasing gear. ✅ Shoot every damn day — Even your messy desk, your lunch, or your cat. Skill builds through repetition. 📸 The real glow-up comes from knowing how to see and control light, not from having the “best camera.” That’s exactly what I teach inside my beginner-friendly course with no jargon, no fluff, just simple steps that actually make sense. 🎯 Want to stop guessing and finally feel confident with your camera? Beginner friendly & simplified way to learn shutter speed, aperture, iso ! I know a lot of you bought these new trendy cameras and want to know how to use them without it being a headache! The big 3 that affects the light/exposure of your image SHUTTER SPEED - Usually the fraction number (ex 1/125). How fast your camera snaps the photo. The faster it is, the less light that comes in and less motion blur. I like using 1/200 for people, and as high as possible for action sports APERTURE- Usually the decimal point number (2.8) How wide open your lens is. The wider it is , the more light and background blur you’ll get. The bigger the number, the less light you’ll get, and more things will be in focus. Usually I keep this as low as I can unless I am taking group photos ISO - Adds brightness to your image but also adds noise/grain. Most people try to keep it as low as possible but don’t ever be too scared to raise it up as needed #camera #photography #videography

I shoot in manual whenever I can. But I will shoot aperture priority whenever the light is changing a lot or different parts of the field/court have very different light. Allows me to focus on shooting instead of switch the setting mid play. I tend to underexpose on aperture priority mode by 1/3-2/3 stops. In this example, if a batter hits a ground ball to an infielder I would’ve have to change the setting by 3 whole stops, which is 9 clicks/turns on the dial, in order to properly expose the infielder. Which isn’t going to happen quick enough to get a good photo. Do you ever use an auto setting?
