(ENG) Dances from the Papua region of Indonesia are generally energetic, dynamic and full of joy. The music and rhythm that accompanies the dance stimulates burning passion to those who watch it. Generally, Papuan dances are performed in groups, and the male dancers generally carry tifa musical instruments to accompany the dance and sing the songs. Most Papuan dances depict war scenes and performed in the evening. These days, Papuan war-style dances are widely performed to welcome guests. From the costume's side, the dancers generally use cawat (loincloths), skirts made of roots and leaves, headdresses made from Cenderawasih bird feathers (but now the Cenderawasih feathers have been replaced by artificial ones), colourful beads, tifa musical instrument, and accessories representing war equipment (such as spears and bows). Papuan dances are always zestful and fascinating to watch.
