I installed Arch Linux (Cachy OS) on my PS4 π #emanschigames #pc #programming #programmer #gaming #game #linux #linuxfan #os #archlinux #ps4 #programminglife #programminghumour #programmingtips #gaming

It began innocently enough five years back, during the pandemic. I just wanted to try Arch Linux for fun. Next thing I knew, I was three distros deep, spending nights reading Arch Wiki like itβs holy scripture, and tweaking dotfiles I barely could understand. Then came the real struggle kernel updates that decided my drivers were optional, audio that didn't worked and i was like where's my Wi-Fi. I spent hours editing config files, convinced i was optimizing things, only to discover I just locked myself out of my own desktop environment. I learned the hard way that half of Arch is installing the OS, and the other half is fixing the thing you accidentally created while customizing. Ssomewhere between experimenting with a new window manager and trying to save two seconds off boot time, I broke the system so badly it wouldnβt even boot into a TTY. And of course, instead of restoring a backup like a person, I reinstalled Arch from scratch because apparently thatβs part of the ritual knowing i had no any other options. It was super frustrating, but honestly, I learned a lot and kinda enjoyed the thing. I donβt really feel like using it anymore for general use.

I use Arch btw. Name one valid reason to keep using Windows in 2026. Iβm waiting. βοΈ #archlinux #linux #iusearchbtw #linuxrice #setup

what do you use btw? π§ -- Arch Linux was created in 2002 by Judd Vinet with a clear philosophy rooted in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple). But in Archβs world, simple never meant easy. It meant minimalism, transparency, and user control. Instead of preconfigured desktops and heavy abstractions, Arch Linux provides a bare-bones base system that users manually configure, install packages on demand, and fully understand from the ground up. One of Arch Linuxβs most important contributions to the Linux ecosystem is its rolling release model, which removes traditional version upgrades and delivers continuous updates to the kernel, system libraries, and applications. Combined with pacman, Archβs fast and dependency-aware package manager, users get immediate access to the latest software, compilers, programming languages, and development tools. The Arch Wiki became legendary for its deep documentation, making it a primary learning resource not just for Arch users, but for the entire Linux and open-source community. Over time, Arch Linux gained popularity among developers, programmers, system administrators, DevOps engineers, and cybersecurity professionals who value customization, performance, and understanding how Linux actually works. Today, Arch Linux powers development environments, custom desktops, servers, containers, and security labs. Its history represents a shift away from hand-holding distributions toward learning-driven Linux workflows, proving that mastery, not convenience, is what makes systems powerful. #ArchLinux #Linux #linuxmemes #OpenSource #FOSS #Programming #DeveloperLife #CyberSecurity #InfoSec #DevSecOps #LinuxCommunity #TechHistory #TechCommunity
