Weird athlete habits that seem lazy… but are actually discipline: 1. Leaving the gym before others Not because the session was easy or boring. But because the program said so. Doing more than prescribed isn’t discipline - it’s ego Know when to stop 2. Decline invites to go out. Not because they’re lazy and won’t enjoy it. But because knowing a late night out can lead to a bad session the next day and less recovery. 3. Eating the same meals straight on repeat. Not because they’re don’t wanna make something else. But because they know what works when fueling themselves for the week. 4. Doing nothing/ Only walking on rest days Not because they lack motivation. Because they understand that more isn’t always better. Rest protects/ builds performance 5. Getting to bed early Not because they have nothing else to do Because they know sleep is the most important things for performance These habits could look lazy and boring to people on the outside. But for athletes they know exactly what needs to be done to perform at their best #trainlikeanathlete #athletics #athlete #athleticperformance #athletehabits

move better >>> just look better Training like an athlete is about: -moving efficiently -being quick and reactive -producing power -accessing full ranges of motion -transferring force through your whole body You don’t need to play a sport to benefit from this. Adding even a couple of these into your routine can completely change how you move, feel, and perform. And it makes training way more fun than just going through the motions in the gym. There’s an athlete in everyone, so go get after it! #athlete #trainlikeanathlete #theoryofmotion #jasonandlaurenpak #athletic

POV: you finally start training for speed and explosiveness. Suddenly, your workouts have purpose. You're not just lifting heavy — you're moving with intent. You're sprinting, jumping, reacting, landing. You're building a body that moves fast and holds up under pressure. This is what athletic training feels like. Less noise. More transfer. Comment “ATHLETE” and we’ll send you a guide to help you train the right way — with speed, power, and long-term performance in mind.

The objective is to slow down less. @aikines 🔆Correct technique minimises deceleration. The athlete must remain relaxed, maintain the correct arm stroke and put the foot down under their centre of mass (COM). 🔆Why is this important❓ 🔆If the foot lands ahead of the knee or in front of your (COM) "reaching". The athlete will produce unnecessary braking ❌ forces which will result in a loss ❌ of speed allowing them to slow down quicker. The athlete will also stay longer❌ on the ground and must wait for their (COM) to travel over the foot in order to push into the next stride. 🔆If the athlete's torso is leaned too far forward. With each stride, the athlete will be forced to catch themselves with their landing foot. Resulting in a high back kick ( less front side mechanics and more backside mechanics). ,🔆When you're upright, with your feet landing below your (COM) it is easier to run faster. Maximum force can be applied to the ground, in the correct direction, with optimal ground contact time, delivering a longer and faster stride. ‼‼Follow @a_luciantrackstar.lionel for more related content‼‼ LET'S LEARN TOGETHER . . . #coach #coaching #sprints #runningtechnique #ncaa #running #40yarddash  #sprinters #trackandfield  #speedtraining #trackandfieldlife  #athletics  #100m #200m #400m  #trackandfieldtraining #hurdling  #sprinttraining  #hurdles #hurdler #100meters #200meters #sprinting #trackandfieldmemes #trackandfieldnation #trackandfieldgirls #tracknation

Everyone wants to get faster but most athletes don’t know where to start. The truth is, speed doesn’t just happen from running more sprints or copying random drills online. It’s built through a proven framework: one that’s been used by the National Association of Speed and Explosiveness (NASE) to develop some of the fastest athletes in the world. If you want real progress, you need to: - Build a foundation of strength - Learn to apply that strength explosively - Train both acceleration and max velocity - Refine your sprint mechanics - Stay healthy enough to sustain progress This is the blueprint that actually transfers to sport. Comment “SPEED” and we’ll send you our 42-page Speed Blueprint, including a free 30-day structure to help you get started the right way.

Follow to learn how to get more athletic. Elite sprinters ATTACK the track to generate HIGH GRF at contact. If you’ve ever seen a 100m race in person, you know it sounds like an earthquake. High level sprinters are able to put more force into the ground (especially during the first half of ground contact) via a few key components: 💥Fast thigh angular velocities & foot tangential velocities This a byproduct of having higher thigh amplitudes (greater ROM) during flight, which gives them more room to “whip from the hip.” Fast thigh angular velocities also create high foot tangential velocities, aka how fast the foot is moving at touchdown (both its vertical and horizontal components). This is KEY for achieving faster sprint speeds. 💪High lower limb stiffness This is crucial to have the eccentric capacity to resist excessive deformation during ground contact, which will increase GCT. Elite sprinters have extremely high levels of stiffness, which is product of their neuromuscular RFD and tendon stiffness. Ultimately, this is how they generate higher GRF during the first half of ground contact. This allows them generate the necessary impulse (to satisfy flight time needs for stride length) FASTER, which decreases GCT! …… 🚀if you’re ready to jump higher, run faster, and train like an Olympic athlete, sign up for training at THP Strength! #sportsperformance #fitness #sportsscience #strengthandconditioning #sports #training #athlete #strengthtraining #basketball #dunk #volleyball #football #trackandfield #strength #speedtraining #athleticperformance #strengthcoach #injuryprevention #sportsperformancetraining #kneepain #performancetraining #speed #workout #sport #plyometrics #personaltrainer #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapist #dunking #jumping
