JWT in practice is not about tokens. It’s about how the server knows who is calling the API. When a user logs in, the server signs: userId role expiry inside the JWT. On every protected REST API request, the client does not send userId. The server: Verifies the JWT Extracts userId and role Uses that to authorize the request That’s why you don’t trust IDs coming from the client.
