A little PSA 🚨- because I would want to know… . . I will also say not every hygienist or every office does this with putting the removable appliances in the main ultrasonic. But I have temped at enough offices that do, and I think it’s totally disgusting and I think patients should be made aware so they can clean their appliances themselves at their house. . The tablets mentioned in the video are @bweisshealth and you can use code “THANKYOU10” for a discount! . And the dental pod I mentioned is @zimadental - and I absolutely love this little pod. It’s so cute and gets the job done! . . #themoreyouknow #oralhealth #rdh #dentalhealth

Hearing this almost all day can be a little overstimulating… but and somehow we still love what we do 🔊 _________________ @fromsmiletosoul #dentalhygienist #dentalclinic #oralhealth #healthcare

Think you’re brushing perfectly? 👀 Disclosing tablets highlight plaque so you can see exactly what you’re missing. They’re brilliant for children — and surprisingly helpful for adults too. Seeing is believing 💙 #dentalhygienist #dentaltipsandtricks #toptiptuesday #brushyourteeth #plaque

There is a concept/ myth that says it only takes 21 days to form a habit but on average it actually takes around 2 months!!! 🤯 So yes, when my little patient’s come in and tell me this…my reaction is pure happiness and excitement!💃🏼😂 #dental #youcandoit #flossing

Tongue scrapers are a ‘Yes’ from Dr. Molly. Although they aren’t a replacement for brushing or flossing, here’s why they are a great addition to your oral care routine. #omahadentist #oralcare #nebraskadentist #omahadentalcare #familydentist

I could literally talk about this all day. And I DO! With my patients all the time! #dentalhygiene #floss #flossing #dentalhygienst #rdh

🦷 Myth Buster! “If I brush my teeth really well, I don’t need to floss.” Even the best brushing can’t reach the spaces between your teeth. Flossing (or using TePe brushes) helps remove plaque and food debris that your toothbrush misses, keeping your gums healthy and your breath fresh 🤩 So yes, brushing is essential… but flossing completes the job!

My dental hygienist is going to be so proud. 🦷✨ Switching to a water flosser was the best thing I did for my routine this year. Link in my bio! #SelfCare #DentalHealth #FreshBreath

@brushwithbritt recently asked on her stories about how we are doing head and neck exams and I’ll admit I do them laying down HOWEVER today I had someone outside the office tell me they had their first ever head and neck exam by a dental hygienist and I just shook my head…. Are we not doing head and neck examinations? Because I do it at every visit. I use this time to learn more about my patient as well since I always find more info regarding systemic health issues disclosed while assessing their TMJ, sinus regions lymph nodes, and thyroid. I always take blood pressure for my patients this is a non negotiable especially when we know the links between cardiovascular disease and gum disease. Our office recently included a small form on what type of appointment the patient would like: quiet, chatty, minimal chatting… our course we do need to discuss OHI and findings, but maybe a quiet appointment means no small talk. We have new forms for patients to fill out for medical update as well and this is different than their new patients forms and includes questions about stress levels. If you are a hygienist what are you implementing into your hygiene department to better care for your patients? If you are THE PATIENT reading and watching this… are these things your provider is doing or will you start asking more questions as to why it’s not happening? #oralhealth #dentalhygiene #rdh

We promise we’re not being dramatic 😭🦷 Flossing really does make a difference. Brushing your teeth cleans the front, back, and chewing surfaces — but it doesn’t reach the tight spaces between your teeth where plaque and bacteria love to hide. That’s where flossing comes in. Those areas between your teeth are one of the most common places cavities and gum inflammation start. And the tricky part? You often won’t feel anything at first, which makes it easy to skip… until it turns into a bigger problem later. Flossing every day helps remove plaque, protect your gums, and prevent cavities from forming in those hard-to-reach spots. It might seem like a small step, but it makes a big difference in keeping your smile healthy long-term. And yes… we will keep talking about it 😌 📅 Due for your next checkup or cleaning?
