Providers who use this value to show you that your child’s mouth got wider from a soft appliance (such as MyoBrace, Healthy Start, and Toothpillow) might not realize all they did was tip the teeth out. Wow! It was a big day for our four year old! He had his expander removed. He had it placed last year 9/11/23, we turned the key in the middle twice a week for about three month, and then kept it in to retain progress. His intermolar width went from 24.5 mm to 35mm. • Unfortunately there was no forward growth, because he hated wearing the face mask, (an additional piece to be worn in the night) which could have supported that part. But we are grateful for what could have been accomplished!🙌🏽 • Our next steps are 👉🏽 Myofunctional Therapy to prepare for 👉🏽 tongue tie release I also scheduled a cleaning with his dentist. • Cranial work/ manipulation will be a big component to continue supporting his jaw and facial growth and development. • I am so happy that we did it as early as we did! He was three years and ten months when the expander was seated.
