If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know, my whole ethos is EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. So if you fancy a packet of Doritos then go for it! As long as it’s part of a healthy balanced diet, then why the hell not? Let’s not demonise food, let’s ENJOY it! And on that note, here is a recipe for one of the tastiest salads I’ve ever made. It’s crunchy, tangy, packed full of flavour and nutrients! RECIPE BELOW 👇🏽 🥗 PICO DE GALLO 🥗 Once you spoon into this refreshing, zesty and delicious Pico de Gallo, you’ll just keep going until it’s all gone 😋 A classic Pico de Gallo is made from cucumber, tomatoes, onions, coriander, lime, and jalapeños. But I’ve also added in some avocado. You could literally eat this with anything. Serve it as a salsa with some tortillas, as a taco topping, or as a side dish with your main meal. Enjoy! Save this post, the recipe is below and comment SALAD and I will send you the recipe for the Buffalo Salad in the video INGREDIENTS: 2 avocados peeled and pits removed 1 cup vegan yogurt plain, unsweetened 1 cup water 1 teaspoon maple syrup 2 limes juiced ¼ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 3 tbsp cilantro chopped ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning INSTRUCTIONS To a high speed blender, add avocados, lime juice, water, maple syrup, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Blend until smooth and creamy. Next add in the chopped cilantro and Italian seasoning and mix by hand. Not even kidding! I’ve had a lot of guacamole in my life but this is the best ever guacamole I’ve ever had. Read ⬇️ I recently posted a reel and asked whether or not you wash mushrooms before you eat them and I got quite a lot of responses to that question that I posed. For the most part, (67%) most people agreed that they at least run them under of water a little bit and get some of the dirt off of them. Several of the people claim that it wasn’t dirt. It was some sort of other matter or something that was perfectly OK to eat . Although I don’t think anybody really wants to crunch into something when they’re eating a mushroom 🍄 All of this made me start to think about all the other foods that we generally don’t wash before we eat . Personally I’ve been in the habit for quite a few years now (I don’t know how long ago it started, ) but I wash, lemons ,🍋 limes and grapefruits, and or anything that I cut into . I wash melons 🍉 and avocados 🥑 as well . When you think about it , first of all you don’t know where that item has been right ? 🤢 We all agree on that but second of all when you cut into it with a knife, the knife can transfer whatever is on the outside to the inside . Therefore if there’s any bacteria or any kind of gunk on the outside, potentially you could Pass that into the fruit ot vegetables that you are eating …which is inot good . I actually just recently read somewhere that you should wash bananas 🍌 too before you peel them . I’ve never done but it makes the same sense because when you touch the peel generally you peel the banana and then you touch the banana 🍌 probably with the same hands and whatever is on the outside you pass onto the food inside . So I’d love to get some feedback on this. Granted this is not a typical recipe post but I would love to know what you do and I would love to have a conversation and know what everybody thinks about this.
